Description
For the Artist Training Grounds event on Equestria Daily!Day 12: Draw a pony armed with a bladed weapon.
I used a reference for the tank, as I didn't have the time to draw one myself. I started late in the evening, and the deadline for the artist training ground event is in the morning in my timezone ^^
Who knows what image I'm referring to here and who recognizes the tank?

Twilight made a few changes to the tank to suit her needs. That's why she painted it purple, too!

Oh sure. My point was just, they definitely had detailed 3D models for that tank, long before Renegade, even back when C&C1 was made. All three of these renders are from the very first C&C game.

But I never knew they already had 3D renders like that back then! It's also quite a while ago I played those older C&C games.

Really? Huh. All units and structures in the game are kinda rendered from models. And the game is completely filled with 3D-rendered cutscenes showing off high-quality models of practically all units and structures in action. The first half of this video gives a nice overview: [link]
It's a pity they stopped doing that in the later games. Red Alert 1 is also completely filled with action videos, but TS has noticeably less of them, and RA2 and the later games only have some for the intros and endings. A real pity.

Indeed! Has this been featured on EqDaily? I'll bet it has, mmm. Dang, I'd like to peruse it if Seth/Cereal/Phoe hasn't already - but one of them likely has. Ah well, it's a Twilight Sparkle Mammoth Tank; its very existence, truly, is reason enough to risk a possible double-post.

It was made for the Artist Training Grounds event on EqD, of which every image was posted. I also think it has been used as a header image for a post.
I've also seen it on memebase, so thanks for the offer, but you won't have to submit it to EqD ^^ This drawing is pretty old anyway.

Oh yeah, I realize it was part of the ATG, owing to the title of the deviation; I was just uncertain if any of the other bloggers had employed it as a post header yet. (It seems very familiar - perhaps it is a long-running fanfic's post header?) Not sure how often Seth double-posts image headers now (quite rarely, by my count), but I don't want to take the risk.
And, regardless of its age, it's quite awesome - much approved!

I searched on EqD for a bit, and it seems it was posted in the 100th drawfriend post! It was used as a header for a Nightly Roundup too, if I remember correctly.
I don't think it has been used any other time, as I check every post on EqD and I'm always really thrilled to see one of my drawings used in a post! The popularity of this image went crazy at the time, though. So it was probably used a lot on Ponychan and other such sites.
