I am so jealous! Most of the bridges like this near me have been washed out in the last two years, The only one that I know of around here like this, I still can't get to due to water covered roads

I feel pretty lucky to still have some old bridges like this around my parts. There are a bunch of old truss bridges out here in the sticks where I just moved!

We lost this one [link] because of a stupid truck driver trying to drive his semi over a bridge with a only a 4 ton limti.. and it was probably one of the most historically important bridges we had.

Did you ever check out bridgehunter.com for any old bridges in your area? I know I found a few through there that I had no idea even existed.

I will have to see if I can dig back into my old photos and see if I can find a picture of the one that I know of that is left around here. We checked it out last year and found out that it was actually closed because the floods last spring actually washed chunks of the road right before it.. I am worried that they won't fix it because it isn't an "Important" bridge and then we had flooding this spring, so I really have no clue of how bad of shape it is in right now.. I hope it won't be as bad as I am thinking it will be.. I will find out this weekend when I head back out that way again..

I actually checked out that site when you sent the link to me and have marked down bunch of spots I want to check out when it dries up around here.. as of right now, about 3/4 of the roads in our county and the surrounding counties are completely messed up.. whether they are under water or just torn to crap and back.. So hopefully soon I can start checking out all the spots listed on that website.. I have a feeling most are probably long gone though.. damn flooding has screwed up so much stuff around here!
