Koda stepped into the dimly lit room of the nook, looking around he spotted Esmeree sitting next to a candle while reading a book.
He smiled and rolled his eyes before making his way to her.

"Doing some late night reading?" he asked, startling the wyngling.

"geez, you could've knocked you know." she pouted, sticking her tongue out at him. Koda sat down in front of her while giving a light chuckle.

"Well I mean, you know, don't wanna wake up anyone." He said as he got comfortable, "so, what ya reading about?" he asked.

"Nothing, just things about Spites, There's this one called a 'Saynamo', It's believed to be a myth by some, it's pretty interesting actually." Esmeree
answered as she flipped the page. "check this out. 'It is said that these large spites are a rare occurrence, often thought to be a myth among Wyngrew.
They are largely nocturnal and become inactive during the day. Wyngrew often catch a glimpse of the top of a Saynamo's head, watching deep from the
crop field, only to blink and the spite to have disappeared.'" she quoted.

"huh, that's uh... unsettling." Koda said bristling a bit. "do you think they exist?" he asked.

"If it's in the book, then it must mean they exist right." She said with a smile only to add more to koda's uneasiness.

"heh, well I'll leave ya to read that then, thought you should be sleeping you know." he said with a chuckle. "Miss Alma's gonna kill the both of us if she
knew."

"I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm just reading, mhmm" she hummed, Koda got ready to get up before Esmeree stopped him, "Wait, could you maybe stay,
it's lonely here with everyone else sleeping. We could read more of these stories and stuff" she offered

Koda smiled and settled back down, "you know what, sure, stories are nice after all." he said before the two went on with reading from the book.
