Description Name-Day: Ferventis(Justinian) 17th, 8:96 Blessed Age
Occupation: Gladiator Owner | Religion: Imperial Chantry

Level: 11
Memes: Face Claim | Language | Sin | Compendictionary | Heart Chart | Motivation

JinxInvoluntary Naturist - The character's clothing suffers from a streak of misfortune and shortlivedness, often catching fire, often soaking wet, often tearing away, seams ripping and unraveling, leaving the poor character exposed to the elements and lascivious leers. Particularly likely to happen when pursued by slasher villains.

SkillsMedical Knowledge - The character is knowledgeable about injuries and common signs of poisonings, and inspecting a body, she can usually accurately tell what manner of a specific weapon, general type of spell, or general type of poison was used on it. The character is also more skilled at improvising splints for broken bones, and making clean stitches, and using only stitches and poultice, can often patch up injuries with little to no scarring.

Specialisations and TalentsSpecialisation I: BLADEMASTER
Sharp Feint – The Blademaster makes a single sloppy feint attack at the enemy, followed by a single normal attack. If the feint is successful, then the attack gains a bonus to accuracy and damage. Experienced enemies are unlikely to fall for it.
Swift Swipes – The warrior sweeps his weapon around in up to 3 swift but light and careless swings. The attacks are likely to overwhelm and injure light armored, evasive opponents, but they are highly ineffective against heavy armor.
Sword-Brawl – The Blademaster closes in with a sweeping half-sword parry that easily catches heavy blows, though nimbler attacks may slip by it. She then follows up with a quick pommel bash to hopefully disorient the opponent, right before attempting a precise half-sword thrust at a gap in the opponent's armor. The stab deals lowered damage, but is precise and likely to outright pierce weaker armors. The Blademaster is open to attack from secondary enemies during this maneuver.
Vital Guard - The character focuses on defending the gaps in his armor, becoming almost impossible to critically hit or backstab. The character is more likely to get hit, but any hits are likely to strike armor, and thus do significantly lowered damage.
Half-sword guard - Employing a wide half-sword grip the fighter focuses on directly blocking slow and heavy attacks, possibly blocking even battleaxe swings and maul strikes. Swift and light flurries are likely to get through.
Sweeping Defense – The Blademaster guards himself from attack with swift but wide sweeps of his weapon, effectively parrying swift and outnumbering attacks. Enemies with heavy weapons are likely to pummell through the light defense.
Calculated Assault [Tier 2] - The Blademaster manipulates his opponent with a flurry of 4 weak attacks, adapting to the enemy's defense style with each parried or dodged blow, finishing up with either a wide cut or a powerful half-sword stab. The weak attacks are inaccuracte and ineffective against armor. In the finale, a slash deals increased damage, while a stab may pierce armor. Tier 2 talent, only useable once per quest.

Specialisation II: CAVALIER
Cautious Form – Knowing to sometimes be on her guard with an adversary, the Cavalier tests the enemy with a normal attack. If the attack deals damage, then the Cavalier follows up with two more swift attacks. If the attack fails, then the Cavalier resumes a guard stance, aiming to parry incoming blows. Example use: ”/me tests the enemy's guard with a swing of her weapon, ready to either attack or defend (Cautious Form @ enemy, GM)”
Measured Form – Knowing how easy it is to tire while fighting in heavy armor, the Cavalier opts to hold back, only making two weaker attacks or parries while focusing on breathing and regaining vigor. Can be used for attack or defense.
Posh-ture – Even bleeding, scarred, and covered in guts, the Cavalier radiates charm and confidence, and she is never ill-affected by ugly injuries or dirt. That damnable dirt...

WARRIOR
Take a Punch – Used strictly in hand-to-hand combat! Used to more severe and hurtful injuries, the warrior pummels the target, shrugging off all but the heaviest punches and kicks that land on her, while making 3 unarmed attacks herself.
Basic Disarm - The character executes a swift set of motions, trying to steal the main weapon from an adversary, or at least to make that adversary lose grip of the weapon. Disarm has high odds of failing against skilled adversaries, and failed disarms leave the attempting character open to attack, it should only be attempted against inferior or unwary targets.

TWO HANDED WEAPON

Indomitable – The character focuses on keeping a secure footing, becoming immune to all but the strongest knockdown or stun effects for the turn. May be combined with moving and a normal attack.
Mighty Blow – The warrior makes a single powerful attack at the target, dealing increased damage if it hits. No accuracy bonus.

UNARMED
Sweeping Kick – The character makes a swift roundhouse, reverse roundhouse, or a leg sweep at the target. Targets hit in the head are likely to be staggered or knocked down. Reduced effect against padded helmets and armors. Successful leg sweeping automatically causes knockdown. Torso hits yield no bonus effects. May be used while carrying LIGHT weaponry!
Powerkick – The character leans forward for the kick and drives her heel into the target, delivering a kick with weight and power behind it. Unarmored and flexible-armored characters hit in the chest may have the air knocked out of them. May be used while carrying any weaponry.

StoryBackground
Caius is the non-mage son and only child of a Senator in the Publicanium, born and raised in Qarnius. He spent his life being well-groomed, expected to marry up and produce children on the off chance that they could be mages. However, the life as a bureaucrat was not appealing to him, and he instead found enjoyment in watching gladiatorial battles. Being the only son and child, however, Caius was forbidden from participating in such competitions.
At the age of nineteen, the exotic beauty and excellent fighter that was Vivialus caught his attention. He purchased her to fight for him in the arenas, secretly trained with her to refine his own skills, and lived vicariously through her. Her victories brought him much prestige, and her growing popularity gained him favour amongst his peers. He, however, grew tired and frustrated with his inability to participate himself, and eventually decided to take Vivialus with him and leave Tevinter in search of challenges and combat experience.

Quest & Event Log
Bloodshed and Muscles: a Warrior's Tale | The Hungry Mabari Saw Games | Fallen From Grace

Personality
Caius is a friendly man who enjoys the company of a woman or two, and good food and drink. While he likes the thrill of combat - though he has not experienced it - but he will, however, prefer a dipolmatic alternative to needless bloodshed when it comes to settling a dispute. If he takes interest in a person, he will go make the effort to get to know them and be their friend. He strongly believes that a person must take care of their possessions - slaves, included - in order to keep them, else they have no right to those possessions at all.
In the course of his fourteen year ownership of Vivialus, he has come to care greatly for her and sees her as his closest friend. He takes tremendous pride in her skills and her victories, and is liable to boast of her battles to anyone who would hear it. He will not take kindly to insults or threats made against her.

He's already quite entertaining to play, and figuring out his mindset and personality was easier than I expected. :'D I look forward to people's reaction to him. It should be highly amusing!
