loved the lighting and contrast

suggestion: increase f number to produce greater dof

thanks very much...

suggestion: Read description. it's shot on a "View Camera" we use these things to change the "plane of focus". And it would be pretty darn silly to change the "plane of focus" if your "depth of field" was so deep that everything was in focus now wouldn't it

it's not a descriptive image so I don't give a turd if you can't see the detail on some things. just my opinion. Descriptive would be the "Pine O Clean" shot I did.

mike? doing still life? blasphemy! Although i must say the whole painting with light technique gives it nice atmosphere to the image. kudos

haha yes unfortunately we are made to do the most unholy of things at collage.
it was fun with the painting of light though.

Now this I like! and it's not just because I really love food. I like the high constrast and vibrant color! It's not offten you post colored pieces. I do love your black and white work, but this is so organic and richly done. Also the arrangement is very nice. I demand more work like this

You migh t like it and it might look good but it's boring as to do so you'll only get more on occasion.

Great composition/lighting.
Personally, I would've increased my DOF a tad - but it works fine the way it is.
Good work

Intentionally done... Else we wouldn't have changed the Plane of Focus on the View camera to get the effect.
It would have been much easier to stop down a 35mm camera and just use studio lighting. but that's boring as bat shit.

I've never seen - let alone used - a large format digital before. Those things must cost a fortune.

By the way, can you explain the dual exposure?

I'm not sure why, but everytime I look at the photo I get something else from it - it's very dense but at the same time everything compliments each other other through curve and colour. I like...

thanks heaps.
well the camera only lets us go up to 32 second long exposures and because we wanted to paint it in with light we wanted longer so we took two photos or 32 seconds long (as a double exposure) and this effectively gave us 64 seconds worth of painting time.
