Before anything else...

- If you haven't seen Berserk, Griffith is a -guy-...he's about a ten-year-old -boy- in this picture. (Yeah, and he gets girlier as he matures, somehow. O_o But he is absolutely a male. Don't be fooled.)

- If you have only seen the anime of Berserk, you will have absolutely NO IDEA what that slimey mutant fetus is. Don't worry about it. Enjoy the silly picture and be baffled for now. Just don't read any further in this caption.

- If you -have- read the Berserk manga, you will undoubtedly recognize the baby instantly. However, if you haven't gotten all the way into the Retribution arc (I think that includes up thru volume 21) you will not recognize the significance of the pairing above. Don't bother guessing. It's more complicated than that. Just go read it. ^_-

- On the concept -

For the fanart100 prompt #28 "Children"...wow, plural huh? So Griffith flashbacks here and again, but how to throw in a second "child"...? That's foretunately where multiple "childhoods" step in. Even though this does not happen in the reality of the story, I hope the overlap of timeframes makes sense. They both look kinda happy here, even though even at this point in life, neither is exactly innocent. (Pure maybe...but not innocent. XD)
On top of that - look - lotuses! Originally I was going to stick the Behelit dangling from his finger...but that was too obvious. O_o Beechi will pop up in some other art I'm sure anyway. Going for something a little more universally symbolic here.

- On the construction -

Media: once again, I have no idea what catagory in dA to stick this in. Oh, how I wish for the day for "fanart" to be under "mixed media" one day. Anyway...this is mostly a painting (I think) because I actually used gel texture medium and varnish here. Plus markers, ink, watercolor pencil, China-marker, and acrylics.

The rendering here is a bit of a parody of the pictures my parents have hung in their bathroom. ^_^; I think it might be the flowers that are pushing it over.
Maybe it's creepy just because it looks cute at first...?
Maybe it's just silly.
All I can say is that if more babies and more little boys actually looked like this...well, the world would rock.
