I use the MP-E 65mm 1-5x Macro lens.
This lens allows me to get very close to my subject,
I also use an MT-24EX flash which lets me use an
aperture of F/13. The flash also acts as a virtual
shutter, freezing motion and getting a very sharp image.

The amount of favs and comments more often than not is dependent upon what time of day you submit. Also whether or not DA is running smoothly, how many other photos you have submitted that day and if you take the time to submit the image to groups.

Yeah, I guess so. I noticed that more people seem to look at my photos when I post in the evening at my place, though in case of the comments, there are usually few no matter at what time I post. Oh well, I hope yours will have more comments soon, because it deserves it.

The very best way to get comments on your own work is to comment on others. I don't do this a lot myself these days as I have been caring full time for my mother and the quality of my comments declined.
I used to like to chat and now things are different I may start commenting regularly again.

Oh I try to leave comments as much as possible, because I'm of the opinion people deserve them, even if I don't have enough time to write long ones, I always try to leave small ones like I did for your photo.
