That blossom is so pretty! And the colors!

It looks magical. Do you think that, if I made a wish on it, it would come true?

Maybe?

Cactus blossom, cactus bloom, first flower I see today, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight. I wish- *loud truck drives by, preventing the wish from being heard*

...I haven't seen any. I always avoid our cacti. Well, we don't have any anymore (we moved), but we used to. And I always avoided them.

I'm digging the poem...but with that truck driving by, ya weren't able to finish

yeah...even in Flagstaff we get the little annoying ambush cacti. ya know, the ones that hide in the grass?

Yeah. Too bad. But at least my wish is still a secret! : P

O_O Ambush? I don't think I've run into any of those. I did step on some cactus I didn't know was there, but it fell off of a bigger cactus (~3ft tall and sprawled in a circle with a 2ft radius...).

The ambush ones sound scary.

yeah...the ambush ones are maybe a few inches tall and blend in with their surroundings O.O

Ouch! I'm never walking around barefoot again!

=The Next Day=

"Em, why are you walking thru town barefoot?"

"...you mean I was supposed to wear shoes?" O_o

Shoes are nice for desert-y areas, but in town I usually avoid shoes. I bike home barefoot, sometimes.

I did bust my toe open once, but the worst part is that I think I was wearing shoes... granted, they were flip flops, but still. I think I'm better off barefoot. :3

Yikes...

Rain really needs to happen more often. I think I'm fascinated with it because I've never lived anywhere that rained regularly. I've always lived in the desert, and it's always been dry... I should move to Washington state or Europe. I hear they actually have rain!

Or Colorado, good all around weather there xD

Yes! They do get quite a lot in Europe Only two days were sunny the two weeks I spent over there Ended up going with the Arizona Ambassadors of Music group.

Washington state gets rain regularly, lol, from what I hear . Yeah...we don't have that luxury in AZ, do we? Dang drought >< it's already been 13 years!!! We went over it in entomology when this drought set in...poor pine trees

I was seriously thinking of moving to Colorado. My cousin said I could stay with them until I get on my feet if I choose to move there

So cool that you got to go to Europe! I've never even been to Mexico...

We drove through Colorado this summer. It was so weird to have cold weather in July! I got used to it after a day or so, but I'm not used to summer temps below 100...

They had grass! And trees! And shade! And cool weather! It was amazing!

I haven't been to Mexico either, so that makes two of us lol. Save up some money, or get a group of friends together. I know that's what I want to do in the next few years; save up some money from working and then go to Europe with my music buddies again. Two weeks wasn't long enough

I love the weather up here in the summer! From what I've heard, it's similar to Colorado Springs. So...you should so come up here for schooling . Granted, it'll take a while to get used to the winters up here .

One of the kids in my history class goes to Mexico at least once a month. I've never been out of the country. I'd like to go, but I need a passport. Well, I don't think you technically need a passport to get to Mexico, but I want to be on the safe side.

Ooh! That sounds nice! I considered ASU for the nearness to home, but I've been there a couple of times and it never caught my attention. Also, I think NAU started out as a teacher-college, so it has a better College of Ed than ASU. More hands on. It's definitely the first place I'm going to apply to!

When/If I get in, I will pack myself a multitude of thick socks and warm gloves. And beanies to keep my ears warm!

Oh wow! Once a month? niceness You should tag along with them sometime to get out of the country Having a passport is always a good idea, too.

ASU was a choice, but too large for me. A plus would have been that a lot of my friends decided to go there. But I wanted to go some place further away from home, some place where I wouldn't melt in class during the first and last months of school, and was small enough to where I wouldn't feel overwhelmed.

You have the right idea for coming up here

I think he might have been exaggerating, though. Also, I don't know him too well.

If I had a passport, I could go to Switzerland for the summer. My uncle lives there and I have an open invitation to come and visit anytime I want, so long as I give a heads-up. I'd go to Switzerland before even considering Mexico if I had a passport ^_^

Because every college should be considered on a Melting Scale ranging from Arizona (bring a pocketful of Alaska if you don't want to melt) to Alaska (bring a pocketful of Arizona if you don't want to freeze). :3

oooooo! Really?! Dang, yo! You gotta go!!! It's so beautiful there in the summer!!! I would love to live and retire in Switzerland

Indeed...ASU and UoA would be at the top of that melting list Alaska? brrrrr...that's too cold, even for me

I so want to! I need money, though. And for that I need a job. No one's hiring right now, though. Well, some places are, but they're too far away- I have to bike everywhere, so Scottsdale is out of my reach...

When I have money and a passport, I am SO going! Y'know, NAU has a really cool study abroad program for the CoE, where you can get your teaching hours in while in another country. That's what I want to do. It's at American schools, too!

Top places in the Universe to melt:
1. Arizona
2. The Sun

oooo..hmmm...Anything in particular you want to do for a job? I've been at Target for over three years (in Glendale) and they're actually quite awesome when it comes to coming up here for school.

I love the study abroad program! Although I've never done it myself, it's pretty popular at NAU It'd be a great opportunity for you to learn about different cultures AND get credit for classes!

Arizona is definitely at the top. I hate it in the summer ><

I'm fine with most anything, really. I'd like to work with customers, but anywhere'd be fine. I wouldn't mind working at Target, but it's at the other end of town. Too far for me on a daily basis. (Despite that our town is only maybe 5mi wide. I'm a wimp. One of my friends biked twenty miles in AZ heat to get to my other friend's birthday party. He worked at target and lived in the same general area as me. Go him!)

I know! I so want to go!

Most definitely.
