My submission for 's theme this month: African Princess. Kibibi is princess in Swahili.It's a very simple illustration, and in the future I'll try for a lot more complicated picture. But overall, I like this one. There are, of course, small issues I have with it (as with lots of things I draw), but I'm really happy with the coloring. My favorite things to color were her hair, her cheeks, and the wrap she has around her waist.
Let me know what you guys think- hopefully I'll be submitting more often to them! ^_^

The colors work so well together and you really gave her some nice movement. The warm blush of her cheeks is really wonderful.

Thanks! I actually have a lot of problems with this picture. Every time I look at it, I focus on the sash around her waist- it's my favorite part of the drawing- and I can feel like it's at least somewhat successful. I'm glad you like her, though. ^_^

I was wondering when you were going to post this picture. I remember when you were working on it in the breakroom. It came out amazing. Great job. The coloring is awesome, it makes it very eye catching!

Aw she looks really cute! Your coloring techniques have improved greatly and I absolutely love her clothing and hair. By any chance is she based on the new Disney princess?

She's not actually based on the new princess- she's very African, whereas the new princess, Tiana, is based in New Orleans. I can't wait for the movie, though! It looks like it'll be so good!

Thanks! The sash is still my favorite part of the drawing- I really learned a lot through experimenting with the top of the sash, and making it look like it was rounded and had light shining on it.
