Elmyra Gainsborough watched her daughter saddle her black horse with worried eyes.

The dark clouds had gathered leaving the woman with a sense of something terrible was going to happen! She was certain this would be the last time that she and her daughter would ever meet again.

"Mother, you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine."

I said fixing my long brown hair into a simple braid that fell against the small part of my back.

The dark purple pirate coat tied around my waist in lavender and bright pink strips of cloth hung loosely over my hips as I walked to her side pulling the frail older woman into my arms.

"Please be careful and don't let down your guard." Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I held fast not willing them to go. Slowly I broke our hug and jumped onto Shadow.

Shadow snorted digging his hooves into the ground as though the magnificent beast could sense a dark future ahead of us. "Shhh. Everything's going to be alright." I patted his head running my fingers through his long black mane.

My eyes held my mother's worried gaze, her lips pressed tightly into a frown.

Her hair, a lighter shade than mine, was a bit messy this morning, practically falling out of her tightly wrapped bun. Tearing my eyes away, I slapped Shadows reins, "Hyaa!" and off we raced as one challenging the wind.

Elmyra watched the wind flowing through her light green kimono.
"Please gods, watch over my Aerith."

The sky zapped lightning across the sky as a rumble of thunder scared off a few horses.

"There she is! Get her!" Enemies on all sides charged at a mere woman.

Soon they were thrown back by a powerful force!

In the land of Midgar word had reached the young Emperor.

"Emperor Cloud, we are doing everything we can to subdue the Golden Flower and her forces."

The young lord raised a blonde eyebrow, "Golden Flower?"

"I dare you to face me Midgar scum!" I hurled my long red staff knocking a whole group off their feet and smirked watching them fly off into the air. Twirling my staff between my black gloved hands I managed to cut through their enemy lines. Blood spattered my face, but I didn't care I kept swinging my staff slaughtering them all!

"The people beneath the plate will no longer be under Midgar's control!"

I fist bumped the air listening to the cheers all around me. Sure my army was small, but we were a driving force that didn't give up so easily.

"Hooray for the Golden Flower! She is our savior!"

"The Golden Flower will carve a path to victory!"

I bowed low to my loyal army that were once poor farmers or thieves.

We had come so far and so nothing would stop us. I was sure of it.

"She's a simple flower vendor gone rogue, my liege. Within five years she formed an army of her own, and is now daring to challenge the God's Chosen One. You my sire must take action!"

Emperor Cloud looked over the documents of various men this Golden Flower has killed over the past years. "Perhaps instead of more bloodshed, we could come to some sort of understanding." Cloud sighed, he was tired of constant war. His father built their empire from scratch, and so the pressure was on to please his old man and become a better emperor. Oda Nobunaga, glared at his son's weak attempt of maintaining order. "Yes talking is the way to make your enemies bow before you, isn't it? My son, have I taught you nothing? Even a God strikes down his enemies who dare turn against him. I suggest you think over your decision carefully." Cold sweat ran down Cloud's neck at the wrath of his father.

His face however showed no emotion, he had trained himself well to not display any emotion and so it was anyone's guess as to what the young ruler was feeling. "Yes father, thank you for that advice." He turned to his visor who was with a few men. "Summon my men to battle and send a letter to the Zanarkand Empire asking them to barrow a few soldiers. Emperor Tidus owes me for helping him defeat Sin."

"Yes sir!" A chorus of men yelled before departing to carry out their orders.

In the midst of battle I clashed weapons with an officer the rain dripping down my face.

I blinked raindrops away when a sword slashed my arm. "Ahh!" I screamed falling to the side to clutch my arm, the sting hurt like hell. The man with brown eyes now pointed his sword at me, "Ready to go back to hell?" Thunder rumbled through the skies and the man gasped falling to the ground.

"No, but I'm sure you are." An older woman's voice said pulling her sword out of his chest.

I smiled recognizing that shock of brightly colored hair, "Light-chan!" I grinned happily.

"Let's go." She held her hand out to me, and I grabbed it. She pulled me along keeping me close to her as we avoided the enemy. Lightning slashed her way through making our path to the boat easier to get too. On board we faced more of Midgar's troops to battle.

"Ready when you are, your highness." Wakka yelled from his post.

Emperor Tidus nodded, his friend needed help and that's what he was going to do.

He was a man that kept his promises and friends in need always came first.

"Fire!" Tidus commanded and and canons roared echoing through the storm traveling at high speeds to their target. "You sure this plan will work?" Wakka asked, the young emperor. "Yeah, it's got too." Tidus said wiping rainwater from his dripping spiky hair.

A loud explosion jerked the boat, pieces of drift wood flying everywhere.

"Aeith!" I heard Lightning yell and I gasped feeling myself fall off the boat hitting the icy waters. The storm was too much for Lightning or anyone to help me, but I struggled against the currents. My arms flailed trying to claw my way up to the surface. Slowly my eyes fluttered shut the watery image of Lightning's worried look disappearing into darkness.
