Actually, Frisk is gender ambiguous, not nonbinary. it's a trick RPG developers can use so that the player can insert themselves mentally into the character without having to worry about gender. So Frisk can be a he or a she, depending on the player. or a they! It doesn't matter. that's part of why I love this game!

actually, thats not true for undertale. it starts out looking like that's the case, but in the end frisk turns out to be their own character and not a generic main character to reflect upon. that's part of undertale's subversion of rpg tropes.

That's from a story-telling perspective, but from a game design and technical perspective, for the entire game Frisk is ambiguous for the players sake. But i'm not going to argue. When I draw older Frisk, non-binary or not, I always go with a 'male' outfit and haircut. Other people go with female. that's fine. if Frisk is nonbinary, fine. but that's not canon, so some people will still call Frisk 'he' or 'she'. I say he.

nope, theyre clearly referred to with "they" pronouns. thats as canon as it gets. theyre nonbinary.
