This is Penguin. He's from an old webcomic called Todd and Penguin, which debuted in 2001 and came to an abrupt end in 2009. The comic had a lot of different storylines in its nine-year run, and while some of them were fun and lighthearted, others were a bit darker and more serious in tone. Some of the last storylines in the series also had a bit of violence, especially the final one, done by a guest artist, where Penguin goes on a diet and things get a little out of hand. After the guest artist's storyline was done, the comic ended on a cliffhanger. Its creator, David Wright, hasn't been making new comics since 2009. It's a shame because it has a lot of potential for new stories, and maybe a sequel. That's why I've decided to make my own webcomic based on Todd and Penguin. It will take place a few years after Todd and Penguin, and will focus on Penguin's adventures with Todd's son Danny. The sequel series will also be a little more lighthearted in tone, and will be inspired by Calvin and Hobbes and another webcomic featuring penguins called Wally and Osborne. I have a lot of ideas for stories the comic will include. But before I can get to making the comic itself, I figured I should practice by making some concept art of the characters. So, what you're looking at right now is my take on Penguin. Since he's usually quite cheerful and innocent, he's just smiling and waving hello to you. He's pretty cute, isn't he?
