Description Introduction to Aethonite Biology

Aethonites are a 4th dimensional being, classifiable as a parasite, made from antimatter substance comparable in consistency to silly puddy (goo). They are immortal, and such cannot die from natural aging. They can however still die from external sources, including physical trauma, disease, or starvation. Despite their complex appearances, the biology of an Aethonite is relatively simple. Goo cells, which is of a similar biological flexibility to stem cells, comprises 90% or more of an aethonites body. They are black with an oil-like sheen, and are capable of transforming into all manner of shapes and functions, including muscles, skin, blood, bones, and fur/hair. At the end of the day, Aethonites are simply trying to make the best suited form for their survival. As goolings they try and jump start their evolution via copying what they see, and grow and evolve from there as they acquire more resources. Being made out of goo cells enables all Aethonites to have access to regeneration so long as they have the energy to make more goo cells. Alternatively, if they don’t, they can still repurpose their existing cells to be better dispersed across the body, literally spreading themselves thin to try and mend damage temporarily.

Aethonite Goo, being an antimatter, is corrosive when in contact with normal matter. It’s toxic if ingested, and can cause all manner of organ failures on consumption, if a person does not have the goo removed from their body, this can result in death.
However, as magical beings, consuming Aethonite goo as a Source World Creature can cause temporary super human side effects, including boosted strength, speed, stamina, and magical ability. Once this effect wears off consumers will become very tired and sick, often suffering extensive internal damage.

In addition to their biological malleability there are a few components which Aethonites cannot alter. That includes a core, which can be moved around to be located anywhere on the body, but cannot change its function, shape, or size, and standardized a digestive system, and reproductive system which look and behave identically across all Aethonites.

An Aethonite's Biological craftsmanship comes down to the resources it has access to, and its current level of power (Hierarchal Tier). Plantoids have the most simplified anatomy, and reproduce the quickest. Ferals begin developing locomotion systems, including sight and structural foundations. Lesser Aethonites further their foundations, and begin putting more effort into their mental capacity. Common Aethonites have perfected their digestive and skeletal systems, they have improved intelligence, and start to be able to make experimental biological choices. Greater Aethonites have finished perfecting the basics. They have further improved intelligence, and make experimental biological adjustments regularly, at this stage they have the leisure to begin experimenting with controlling their magical talents. Legendary Aethonites have reached their maximum biological, intellectual, and magical capacities. They can change shape on a whim, and have arsenals of powerful magical abilities, a legendary Aethonite will no longer bother reproducing.
