Description
Cratus comes from Isla De Titan, but was forced to leave the island after an early confrontation with Sobek, which resulted in a near-death battle for dominance, forcing Cratus to kneel and flee. Cratus had a very difficult time coming to terms with this defeat, but ultimately discovered his motivations afterwards. After crossing islands and landing on Isla De Frio Brutal, Cratus was quickly able to shoot up the ladder of power, as the snowy climate suited his abilities far more. Cratus found himself in various fights with other APEX's for dominance, which he killed and salvaged for parts, using their bones and weapons to forge his own tools. With these battles, Cratus found himself being confident and aggressive, resulting in more common brawls. This new hobby of his turned Cratus into a ruthless and intelligent being, able to use his smarts on the battlefield to further his desire for dominance. As his trophies stacked ever higher, Cratus began setting his sights on revenge, going after the dreaded devour himself, Sobek. With the head of his greatest rival, Cratus would prove himself to be the true ruler of Isla Titan, a title that has long since been his goal. The conflict between Sobek and Cratus has gone on since before they towered over trees. Throughout their history, they would constantly come into contact with each other and start a fight, seemingly to the death. With Sobek being victorious, he would then spare Cratus of death and let him retreat. Cratus would try time and time again to fight the croc, always failing and fueling his ambition for victory further. While unsuccessful at beating Sobek, Cratus is always learning and devising strategies to counter Sobeks tactics for the next encounter. He is always training and sharpening his skills, even taking severed spines from Sobek and using them as a sturdy shield. During the invasion of the Daemorhast, Cratus was on Isla De Frio Brutal, fighting smaller invasion forces which branched off to there. Had Sobek and Cratus encountered each other during this invasion, they would in fact form an alliance for the greater good, temporarily, but trustworthy. One day however, their patience will not be so forgiving, and they will once again fight, only this time they will not stop until one of them reigns supreme over the others legacy. After the invasion was halted, Cratus found himself being more hateful towards the Daemorhast rather then the APEX's, now intending to cull them instead of his kind. While he has his sights set elsewhere, Cratus still has extreme distaste towards Sobek and can turn on him at any point given the opportunity. Cratus is a physically heavy and yet mobile fighter, with skills in close combat, and a high intelligence to observe the situation in great details. Unlike most of the APEX's, Cratus does not have any real defensive measures. No real armor or shielding to protect him from the many claws and teeth of the other monsters. To combat this weakness, Cratus relies on a complex brain, which gives him the ability to problem solve and devise tactics against his enemy on the spot. This precision along with accurate and devastating blows potentially makes Cratus one of the most lethal APEX's on record. To top things off, Cratus has a special ability within his mane that gives him an elemental advantage with the use of electrical energy. Although he cannot launch it like a projectile, like with UrsiDae'Goth, Cratus uses the electrical currents as a hydraulic boost on his muscles, making him faster and hit stronger then normally. The force of these blows can be so powerful, some civilians believe Cratus could punch the entire planet out of orbit with one good swing. This electrical pulse even delivers itself into the weapons Cratus holds, which add to their power when swung. The more frustrated Cratus becomes in combat, he will eventually drop his weapons and go full berserker mode, making him irrational and brute-ish, while also hitting harder and faster. Similar to Sobek in that regard, Cratus still carries immense speed when like this, but completely forgets about his combat skills.
