They're feet....
(Anyone else get that thing where you're drawing feet, but there are no actual feet near you, but the more you draw, the more you can kind of smell feet, like...in your mind's nose? Feet are the worst.)

Feet really only smell bad when they've been in shoes all day. There used to be a saying about smelling as bad as a coachman's hands, because hands can smell the same if someone wears gloves all the time.

Maybe it makes you conscious of your own feet, and it sets them off getting more pungent. Nice work, anyway, as far as feet go. Very tricky things to draw.

I thought of that, and tried to sniff one, to see. But I only kicked myself in the chin, and could not smell anything. It appears to be a purely psychological foot odour. How annoying!

Woops. Well we have a third eye in the brain, the pineal gland, responsible for dreams and visions. (In some lizards the equivalent feature actually manifests as a semi-functional third eye, the parietal eye, on the top of the head, bizarrely enough). Maybe we also have a second nose buried in the brain, that can smell imaginary smells.
I wonder if you would go to a psychiatrist or a podiatrist about psychological foot odour...

Ha, ha! I'm not sure psychological foot odour is a serious enough problem to go to anyone about.... Maybe I'll go to a lizard about it. It would probably be equally effective.

I hope you don't get angry with me.....but the first thing I thought of was ...that they where feet of someone hanging. Whatever ....they are beautifully drawn feet. I always loved your style of drawing and the fantasy or story it "tells".

Don't worry--I would not get angry about that. They are supposed to be the feet of someone lying facedown, with the soles pointed up, and one leg slightly raised off the floor, but now that you mention it, I can see how they also look like the feet of someone hanging. A little more context might've been helpful, I think! Ha, ha!
