Description
Artemis and her faithful companion Orion. The Dog is Sirius Orion's Hunting hound.Their story is so sad, and one of my favorites of the Greek myths. The one I favor the most, is the one where Artemis, in a ploy by Apollo to maintain her chastity, kills Orion with one of her arrows to prove her prowess as a hunter.

This ties with 2 others in 1st place for my fav myth.
My favorite version is where they fall in love and Apollo sent a scorpion to kill Orion but he was to strong. Even so he had no choice but to retreat into the ocean. Apollo then challenged his sister to hit a impossible target out at sea. She then learned it was Orion and hung his image among the stars so she could still look at him every night.

i like it too... i made one painting of it and now m wondering if i should make an entire series and paint the entire myth painting by painting hehehe...
