Description
This is a drawing I've done of Buster Keaton, an American actor, comedian and film maker, who was a very big attraction in the silent era of film in the early twentieth century. Born in 1895, he died at the age of 70 in 1966. He was called The Great Stoneface due to his stoic look in his films, even when depicting emotional events. He lost his index finger when he was a child when it got caught in a clothes wringer. He's famous for doing all his stunts, many of which were quite dangerous.
His films include The Genera, Sherlock Jr, The Cameraman, Go West, and many others. He had a small part in the '50s film Sunset Boulevard, which dealt with the demise of silent actors. One of his last films he was in was It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, where he had a small cameo role.
