Synopsis: "The Justice League is framed for murder."

Author's Note: Due to the PG-13 rating and the violence, there will be some swearing here.

When you have a dream team of writers working on a movie like this with so much creativity, you know you'll be in for a good time. What do I mean? Let's dive into this. This movie involves the murders of various prestigious scientists. The Justice League are framed for the murders due to the fact that the victims were murdered in the same way they attack their enemies. This movie is claimed to be both really dark and really complex, a sentiment which I can agree with. The main league are radically different from their mainstream portrayal, yet still extremely sympathetic. Let me show you.

1. Superman in this movie is noticeably more aggressive than the usual mainstream portrayal. What makes it work though is that he still genuinely wants to protect others, and as he put it, "If I deliver justice with a heavy hand, it's because I've been on the receiving end", given that he was cared for by poor immigrant workers. He also makes a great foil to both Amanda Waller and Lex Luthor, who are more outwardly concerned for others.

2. The Wonder Woman in this movie is what she is in order to be a free bird. She had her one chance of love taken away from her because her people were unsympathetic assholes who only cared about keeping power by literally murdering Darkseid and his people, all of whom wanted to make peace. At least she's more humble and moral than they are. Steve Trevor helps bring out more of her down to earth moments.

3. The Batman of this movie is Kirk Langstrom, an antisocial man who accidentally turned himself into a vampire. In order to survive, he has to constantly kill/severely injure others, but he doesn't cross the moral horizon since he only kills criminals who are obviously committing crimes. The fact that he had only two friends in college (Will & Tina) who supported him, and was visibly crushed when they died, should say something about him.

It's quite fascinating how they're badass blood knights, yet they still have a sense of morality, which is only more pronounced as the movie progresses. It teaches the moral of being a more altruistic hero in three different contexts:

1. Do not resort to extreme violence when trying to deliver justice. Make sure you keep yourself in check in order to keep others in check.

2. You can't run away from your problems by acting wild. You have to face them head on.

3. You have people around you who support you. You don't have to do anything radical to prove your worth.

The movie is filled to the brim with creativity, action, and a great conflict in heroism. Since this is Andrea Romano's last DC project as far as I know, I call this her swan song.
