Lately i’ve been slightly irked about something on the internet. When looking at NSFW art and creators, i always see stuff in their bios that says something along the lines of “DNI minors” “18+ only!” “If you’re a minor you’re gonna get blocked” which i understand to some degree, but what i find irritating about it is that i would be treated as a minor by everyone of these people if i interacted with them, eventhough i’m from another country with other rules.

As i’ve said in previous posts:
In my country, the age of consent is 15, which means that i’m no longer a minor (atleast in Denmark and most other places in Europe).

It may be that i view NSFW art on American websites, but that still doesn’t make me a minor because i don’t live in the US. If i were to permanently move to America before turning 18, then yes, i would become a minor again as far as i’m concerned. But neither me nor my family have any plans of moving to another country anytime soon, ergo i’m not a minor. I feel like i’m being treated like i’m a little kid, eventhough i’m 17 (AKA a boarderline adult).

I also think people act as though the mere act of my eyes witnessing suggestive art will somehow magically get the creators in trouble (if that were the case, i would’ve gotten a thousand creators in trouble by now). The creators have done their part of the job by censoring or labeling their art as “not suitable for younger audiences”. There are tons of underage kids who either use their parent’s accounts or simply set their age higher than they actually are and end up seeing something they’re not supposed to, but that’s NOT on the creators, that’s on the parents. So no, i don’t believe i’ll get anybody in trouble just by looking.

All i wish for is to not feel like i’m being scolded just because of my current age. I’m just half a year away from reaching the age of 18, i doubt i’d have any major changes mentally within such a short time frame
