Against her will, Ellie was borne helplessly back, her ears ringing with the words she had just spoken to a helpless girl...
Constant, heavy sedation and bouts of savage, humiliating abuse had completely disoriented Ellie. She had no idea how long she'd been in the room here. A week? A month? Maybe longer?
She had already learned that her mission was hopelessly compromised. Her target, Juliana, seemed to know everything. And now Ellie, who had been taught to fear nothing and no one, was utterly, completely terrified of this woman. The imperious, heavy clack of her heeled boots from the other end of the room was enough to induce panic, and as she swayed into view- tall, long-limbed and cold-eyed- Ellie would begin to tremble visibly.
Juliana stood close, inspecting her prize. She reached out and touched Ellie's cheek, enjoying the flinch this invariably produced.
"I could break you, little girl..." said Juliana softly...
