Gorgeous, fantastic detail all around, the waterfall looks like an actual photograph of one...impressive.

She looks so calm, like she's figuring out the mysteries of life. I love it

Their is actually a very good reason why they do this

they actually stand under the water... in the water

it's freezing cold

What happens is that the body goes into shock and the survival instincts of the monk kick in

These meditations are done so that the monk gains full control over their mind and body, fully able to control and if need be activate that survival instinct

why?

because, turns out, when your survival instincts kick in. You can do almost anything!

I'm talking about shooting an arrow and hitting the target no matter how far away it is

but besides that it's also to be able to calm yourself even when your body tells you your going to die.

they can actually raise their body temperature to the point where they can dry wet sheets with their body heat, this while sitting in the snow

Yes!

Amazing stuff

I guess... it's a topic I'm interested in

I like the clothing in your artwork

it shows you did some research of your own

Indeed, I did some

There was actually a picture in my mind when I started painting this.Β

You may have seen it before, it's a photography called "Monks in waterfalls" taken by Dang Ngo and it's really stunning!Β

I just wonder.

What do they get out of all this training?

It's part of their religion not to use violence

yet that's all they ever do besides meditate and write/paint/train

All they do is train to use weapons and the body its self as a weapon

hmm...

still

Nice pic both yours and that other artist's
