Description For aHorseForEverySeason of her awesome monkey esk, Epoch! I just finished inking this for one of my Inktober days and wanted to post it even though I still don't have my good camera. I will take a better picture once I have attached the nautical rope tail so that it can hang from the wall! Hope you love it, he is so fun to paint

Thank you so much! Its one of my favorite features of Epoch's design and I always try to use the natural shape and quirks of the wood to create a neat effect I'll post the finished project soon once the glossy coat has fully hardened!

Oh, this is cute! Did you make those holes and depressions or did this come that way?

It actually came that way! It was a piece of scrap wood my dad used to test his drill press I believe, and was tossed on the floor (like all the scrap wood he's too lazy to throw away XD) and I was down there cleaning so I salvaged all the wood boards that had interesting holes and patterns or grains. They are free canvases for me, I often keep them around in case a project comes to mind!
In this case, I found some nautical rope at a store and am going to thread it through the hole in the middle so it looks like a continuation of Epochs tail and can be hung on a wall

I see! That's a great way to use them as free canvases. I have some bits of wood lying around from projects and blank cards and stuff I kinda want to play with like this. That's a really creative idea with the rope and hanging it on the wall. I'd love to see what it looks like finished!

EEeeeee thank you! Its taking a really long time to cure because of the insane humidity and rain we've been having, but it should be very soon now! And yeah, you should totally do that, it is a ton of fun and its cool to have physical pieces of art to hang around your house and stuff!

Oh heck yes, I'll get on it soon (any new projects have to wait until after Inktober lol)

Thank you!! I had a ton of fun working with it my favorite surface to paint on is definitely wood, it always creates interesting texture in the paint and also an interesting background, especially these old boards I salvage. I love that Epoch has a natural wood head remaining from his original form as a toy, and I could simply leave the natural wood showing through the lines to do its workΒ
