Iβm actually fine with art criticism and actually enjoy the harshness for it, I would actually like for you to comment on it I dong care whether it makes it into any video Iβd just like advice on what I can improve. I seek to improve my digital work!

Hey, bud. I'm a new feller around here and I don't do anything digitally; not yet, at least. I did draw a lil' something in class while I shoulda been taking notes, but whatever. Anyway, here it is. I'd like to know your opinion on my little drawing. I also made a sketch next to the regular drawing to show the helmet from a side view. It was just to give an idea of what the helmet looks like.

Thank you so much for critiquing my work! I always knew there was something wrong with my art, especially with my Jacksepticeye drawing but I couldn't pinpoint exactly what was wrong, and no one really points out what I need to fix very often.Β
After watching the video, a lot of what you had said about anatomy will really help me with my future works, so again thank you so much!

Very solid critique, I find this series of videos and the "Things I hate" videos to be both entertaining and very informative for artists. I hope you continue to do more of them soon.

Hey! I found your yt channel a long time ago and ngl, I never was too fond of the type of videos you were making. Today I got this in my recommended , watched it, and I must say- I'm completely blown away. Really amazing with reasonable criticism and nice tips for starting artists! I gotta watch the first two vids now haha. Good job!

OMG I FINALLY GOT INTO A VIDEO!!! The critiques were exactly the parts I needed help with back when I did that drawing too! I was, and still am, the WORST at backgrounds, lighting, and perspective. It's been a while since I did that one but I think I was trying to draw the background with a sort of 2-point perspective?Β I don't remember anymore this was over 2 years ago lol. I've improved slightly since then, or at least I like to think I have. I still have a LONG ways to go though. I still get really lazy and half-baked with certain objects and elements in my backgrounds... When I even bother to draw them, and lately, I only ever draw them while working on my webcomic. Only recently did I finally start to actually feel comfortable in 2-point perspective... and I still find ways to botch it while rushing through my lines to get things done faster.

I also want to add that the lighting makes no sense in the second image.
If the only primary source of light is from behind them, the front of them should be the darkest.

Okay, soΒ to try and remember what I was thinking I went back to the speed paint video XD I think for some reason, despite having what seems to be the most intense light coming from behind them, I decided to treat it like the moon was my primary light source. I guess in my head I must have found a way to justified it because it was fan art of my starting line-up while playing Pokemon Moon? If I had looked at references on ambient and direct lighting I could have had better results with that idea...

ahhhh I see. Altight then, that would make more sense. In that case, I would use that light sparingly as the moon only produces little light.
I'd also recommend cool lighting on that side too
