Description
Maricela Barrera is 15 years old, and the oldest triplet. As the oldest, it’s her responsibility to keep her sisters out of trouble. Because she is shy, quiet, and a bit passive, taking charge and being the leader is quite a struggle for her. She tries to avoid confrontation, not only with her sisters, but with people in general. This creates conflict within Maricela, who knows that it’s important as the oldest sibling to be a proper role model for her younger sisters.
Maricela loves reading books; she enjoys mystery and thriller novels in particular. She is also a Sci-fi nerd, loving anything and everything that has to do with aliens and outer space. Maricela is considered a genius, with an IQ of 150. As a younger girl, she often tried to make friends using her vast knowledge of interesting facts that she read in books, but to no avail. The other kids saw her as a show off, even though it wasn’t her intention to do so. This resulted in Maricela becoming completely isolated in her later years. Also, during the time that she was a little girl, she and her sisters found out that they were half aliens with a specific superpower for each individual. Maricela’s superpowers include telepathy, telekinesis, and the power of flight, along with other special powers involving the mind.
