Finally finished my custom pony version of Midnight Sky!In the comic her symbols do not glow in the dark, it was a thing that just felt like the right thing to do for a toy
She can't stand properly.
Hair from dollyhair.com. Glow in the dark paint form panduro. Body paint with acrylics, ultramarine blue (or similar name).

I know for a fact that I'll make Mystery Storm out of one of them, but I don't want to make him as my first one due to some troublesome parts (like twinkle-eyes and big wings and furry hooves). Not to mention that the bait I have for him is one of those with the stupid mechanism inside them that rolls the tail inside the body when you turn the head. <.<
I have a pony bride though, and I'm kind of torn between two characters for that. The pose would fit both of them perfectly. x_x I also got a G2 baby pony that I was going to make into a winger as soon as I get the head off... Darn thing is tight. D:
But, as for the first customs... I found some fakies that look almost like the G3 ponies. Not quite, but they're nowhere near as awful as fakies usually are. :3 Perfect for customization practice before I tackle the better projects of mine!

I think that's a good plan, to do something that sounds way easier then you described as a first
Oh, the G2 babies have such thin necks, bet that isn't easy to get of!
That's good start up baits, I think. Also think I've seen a few G3 fakies that looked quite ok. That is, they still looked cheap but at least they looked cute
I still get a little upset when I see fakies with copied G1 bodies and then with totally ruined heads D:

I think I might have to cut the baby's back open to get the head out. Not something I'd fancy doing, but currently I don't know what else to do. :/ I've tried just about everything else already. ><

It's ok. Seeing as how I need to give her wings anyway, I'll figure something out so that I can integrate the wing holes with the cut (if I need to cut her open, that is).

Isn't it hard to re-hair a pony? To me it seems nearly impossible....
I had a little tiny yellow babypony with a giraffe as her cutiemark that i want to do something with.....I do not know what exactly, but i want to try some rehairing atleast...

It is in the beginning, now after a lot of customs I can re-root a pony of this size within 1-2 hours if I take it slow

There are some different ways to re-root, I have come to like the "needle-tool" version the most because it's the quickest (at least for me)
