Named after a saint from her tribe, Kateri is born and raised in New York City living with her mother, father, and twin older brothers. She grew up by learning Mohawk from her family and her relatives up in Ontario which she goes visit every year for family gatherings. She would write thought provoking poems about her surroundings, current world problems, and her thoughts on certain issues upon occasion. She can write her poems in English, Mohawk, and Spanish. She looks up to her parents, her brothers, and grandmother for inspiration.
She works at a bookstore which she tends to take a interest in the poetry section to read other poets works. Once in a while, she would participate in poetry slams to get her work recognized. She has a whole catalog of her works that she posts online and there are times her works are published in other forms of media with her permission.
