Description
Due North is a Canadian crime comedy-drama miniseries developed for the streaming service Paramount+ as a continuation of the series Due South, and developed by original series creator Paul Haggis. The show features Paul Gross, David Marciano, and Callum Keith Rennie reprising their roles of Benton Fraser, Ray Vecchio, and Stanley Kowalski, respectively, alongside new cast members Lishcelle McKenzie as Detective Abony Gardner and Maddox Wood as Constable Calvin Gale. The story is set twenty-three years after the events of the original series finale, "Call of the Wild, Part 2", which was broadcast in 1999. It premiered on Paramount+ on November 1, 2022.

NOTES
I am currently watching "Due South" properly for the first time and I thought a legacy series would be interesting. The intention with the different series name and with the character's names is that an African-American female detective would head north to Canada to hunt down a criminal and be joined in her quest by a Canadian mountie, as a kind of reversal of the roles of the original series. The original stars would appear in supporting or secondary roles but not reduced to cameos. They would have their own storylines adjacent to the main storyline and I would probably compare it to "Cobra Kai", in how the new kids' storylines run parallel to Daniel and Johnny's storylines.
I don't know if either of the new characters would have an animal companion but I would have Diefenbaker appear in spirit form to Fraser, alongside the spirit of his father Robert (whose actor Gordon Pinsent is 92 but could do a voice cameo)
The synopsis is based partly on how "Dexter: New Blood" relates to the original "Dexter" TV series.
