”...Thanks.”

Jeez.. Get a room you bromos.

Whoopsie! I forgot to upload this here, sorryyyyy~ :T I remember I promised some of you guys I'd try really hard to upload here even if I wasn't feeling it... I'm trying! ...and it's nice to do once in a while. Might make my butt get more in gear, ya know?
I figure I can always sort these into scraps when I have more refined work to upload.

There's plenty wrong with it, I know, and it's my first time trying to draw Aerrik (augh, forgive me Del) but NNH. It's just meant to be an RP doodle. I TRIED. *fwump*

Working on a tablet now?

I've had a tablet for a long while, actually, but half the time I really wasn't comfortable using it.
Lately I've been trying to use it more and get back into the swing of things.. but sometimes, I really just prefer a pen and paper. ><;
Though other times I'm far too exhausted of a piece to redo all the linework just to post it, which is why you'll still probably see a mix of hard copy pics and digital in the future.

Maybe think about getting the last modle Microsoft Surface 2 pro. They are dropping in price, and they have wacom built into the screen. They aren't as nice as a Cintiqe, but as a budding artist, it's a cheaper tool that could prove a good investment.

Well right now I have an old Intuos 3 which has been moderately okay.. But yes, I wish I could afford one with a screen.

I looked it up, but I have some skepticism on it's pen sensitivity and calibration specs. Also, I noted that (at least as far as I saw), the prices for the Microsoft Surface 2 pro looked to be just about the same of the Cintiq 13HD which is what I've had my eye on for a long while now.

But I suppose for now it's a moot point anyway. I don't have a desk setup right now and I may be moving at some point, so I've been holding off on that for now. When I have a proper desk again, I'm hoping to incorporate a space for my tablet, as well as a second monitor. (I had bought one ages ago but found out I didn't have room because the new desk I was hoping to get around the same time fell through, so it's just been collecting dust.)

Oh such dreams of having a nice rig again instead of this dowdy old half-busted laptop. x_x Ha.
We'll see!

Well, I do agree, that the cintiq is a good buy now. But the Surface is a stand alone, so it's super mobile. I have a Samsung ATIV Smart PC Pro www.cnet.com/products/samsung-…, and I kinda wish I had waited for the Surface 2. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the ATIV, but the Surafe 2 has a few more things I'd have preffered.
The ATIV is a beast of a machine for what it is. It boasts an i5 and 4 gigs of ram. I can run some games at full, like one of my favorites, Torchlight 2.
Where it sells me, is the wacom screen. The pen it comes with (The Samsung S-pen) isn't bad, but it's small and doesn't sport a eraser nub. However, I bought a Samsung digitizer pen, that is more like a standard Wacom pen, and it's great! It feels like it has a full 1024 points of preasure. I used to use a HP TX2500, and it had 512 PPS and it was ok. I was able to tell the difference immediantly with the ATIV.
If I wasn't as mobile with 2 jobs, and visiting my son, a Cintiq would have been a better purchase. But I spend so much time away from home, that having a tablet I can take out and start drawing, sketching, or even work on a serious piece, is a great need.
My Dream buy is a Modbook pro X www.kickstarter.com/projects/m… but that is very expensive and I can't see myself dropping nearly 7000, for the top model.

With that logic then and need for mobility, then yeah, I can definitely see why you'd prefer the Surface 2 or the ATIV. That's a pretty crucial component to consider, but for me, I honestly don't go out much at least not at this time-- and when I do, I normally have things to do that I usually can't fit in doodle time very easily. If I know I'm going to a place that's going to be a sit-and-wait thing like a doctor's appointment, though, then I just take a sketchpad with me, yeah.
But otherwise, even a simple portable tablet isn't something that I could see myself using all that often or justify purchasing. just yet. Not to mention, I'd like to make sure I do a combination of both digital and traditional sketching just to keep myself loose between mediums.

Also holy shit, 7 grand? Dude whoa! You could make your own potentially top of the line gaming/graphics rig for that kind of pricetag. I'd take the homemade desktop over a Macbook, but then again, I'm looking for heavy graphics capabilities and muli-app and window functions, so yeah... it really all depends on what best suits your lifestyle and preferences. <3

You should take a look at that link. That 7k machine is a beast. It's dual Mac OS and Windows boot. It has a 500gb SSD and a 2tb HDD, 32gb of ram, an i7 extreme 4th gen processor, and two beast graphics cards. I am actually supprised with all that they cramed into that thing. It has a cintiq digitizer, so you have the 2048 pps, and rotation/tilt sensitivity. One of my favorite features are the Keyboard commands on the back of the tablet, so you still have quick access to functions even if you don't have it attached to the keyboard for drawing. You can choose to boot in Windows or Mac for personal preff. The whole thing is pretty strong.
If you want a crazy gaming computer check out www.originpc.com/ They are much stronger than "Alienware" but a bit pricier. I would like a crazy strong Gaming PC, but I don't itch for a lot of those games these days. Don't know why... I've been feeling more nostalgic and I've been exploring the Indie game realm.
What games do you like to play, or want to get into?

Like I said, building your own PC would yield a better product for that price, in my opinion. Not to mention you'd be in control of your own specs and not limited to specific companies if it should ever break down. I prefer the customability and in-depth knowledge that comes with creating your own rig. No one knows the specs better than you and depending on the preparation you make, you can plan for individual upgrades of component pieces as needed or wanted, without having to shell out for an entirely new system.

And honestly, I can't say there's any games I really want to get into at this point, I've actually been trying to all but completely distance myself from current gen gaming because I've noticed I have a tendency towards very severe addiction. If I want to pursue my goals and improve myself in the ways I'm trying to right now, I can't afford the time sink of gaming, nor the emotional dependency that grows whenever I get into a new one.

The most I have nowadays are WoW and the various retro consoles of Nintendo and Playstation that I still own and a handful of those games.. aside from that, I have no plans (at this time) to return.

Perhaps someday in the future, but a part of me hopes not... I'd rather be working on my art and building up my athleticism  (I do weight lifting... I've never been into sports and I'm still not, but it came about from being so tired of always playing an avatar of a strong person, now I want to BE that strong person. I'm tired of being so physically limited [I have asthma and fatigue, I'm overweight, and I've never been able to dress how I want because of those limitations-- so this is also about actualization and self expression], so I want to change that. Drastically. And to do so requires a pretty big investment, a timesink of Blizzard proportions.. but the benefits you reap are real).

I have no idea where I'll be when all that happens or even what I'll do with my life once I get there, but for now I'm just taking it one step at a time. >_<;

Yea, I am not that good at building a PC from scratch. As I once bought a graphics card that wasn't compatable with the motherboard, and the power sink/supply I got didn't provide enough juice and throttled the system. With so many diffrent boards, cards, and units, I get confused, lol. Maybe I should take some time to do more research.

I understand that addiction stuff. I love MMOs, and I used to be an avid WoW player up until Wrath. I was an addic of the AH. Playing with numbers and supply/demand. Flodding the market and drying it up, all for the persut of making more gold. At lvl 28 I was making nearly 1700 gold a day (mind you this was before WotLK). The only "work" I was really putting into getting product, was fishing for (excuse me if I get this wrong, it's been a long time) sage fish. After WoW I tried out EVE online... and I saw myself going down a dark path with that game... So I haven't played any MMOs since. Other than a cell phone based MMO (which are not like the real thing) I have stuck to single plaer experinces. Right now I play Diablo 3 with my fiance, some skyrim, and old emulation games on my cell phone.

I'm not that athletic, so I dunno... I was in martial arts and boyscouts for nearly 10 years, and even then I was a big guy. I am larger now than I was then, but I have never been "in shape". As well, I am (more of a personal note) attracted to plus size women. My fiance is heavier, but not big. She is also much taller than I usually date (I am 6'3" and she is 6'1"). She is wanting to loose weight pretty baddly. I care about her, so I want to support her and her journey, and I will, but there is a part of me wishing she wouldn't. This is a demon that I am struggling with, and it will take time and prayer to get through it. But you shouldn't let your weight hold you back from dressing how you'd like to. You aren't trying to make others happy by what you wear, but yourself. If others don't like what they see, then thats on them. You should feel comfortable (don't dress in a manor that you'd feel embarrased, or out of your element) but you shouldn't have to hide your body because society doesn't agree with YOUR BODY. remember, at the end of the day, it's your body, not theirs.

I think it's hard to find that balance. Games, art, life, love (if you have a signifcant other). And sometimes when one becomes a priority, the others suffer. As I have been planning the wedding, I have lost time for my art and games. I only get to see my son once or twice a week. My ex is cruel and I don't get much time with him.... so yea...

All in all, you need to make yourself happy, and find what does helps you. I don't know you, nor am I going to try to pry into your life, but I have been told I am a good listener, and a good source to vent upon. I'm here if you need anything. Really, I know people say that but I really am. Good luck with everything!
