A beautifully expressive piece of work. Having had the advantage of seeing the photo ref, I am in the position to say that you have captured the likeness perfectly. I have also had the privilege of seeing the work progress through its different stages and know how much you have put into it
It is a real reflection on your talent and versatility as an artist

Thank you, Lizzie, there is always a certain amount of worry about likeness in a portrait with most artists and so a comment like this is like music to my ears, very much appreciated my dear

I was pretty much limited by my ref material on this one, Mike, I think too that I wanted to keep the portrait uncomplicated and purely focused on the man. Thank you

You managed again to get so much expression in your work!
Beautifully done!
And I guess that background has a special meaning.

Thank you, Rita, hey you are totally right, Craig loved and visited the Shetland isles in Scotland quite a lot and the landscape here is very similar

This is a lovely portrait. Obviously, I don't know the subject, but it's the kind of drawing that makes the viewer feel the artist (you! ) has captured the essence of the sitter. The eyes and the half smile give it a real sense of life.

Thank you, Rachel, I'm so glad that you could get that certain human feel behind this portrait, my motivation was just as much personal as it was inspirational on this study of the man
