Description Another Chapter fighting for Mankind in the Raknye Sector. This time, it's the other Cursed Founding Chapter stationed in Raknye. The sinister and solitary Steel Falcons, who have given up everything for the Emperor.

The other Chapter in Raknye that had the poor fortune to be born of the Cursed 21st Founding, the Steel Falcons claim no lineage to any Primarch, not that this was unusual of Cursed Chapters, as many would rather not associate with them, period. In truth, they are of the same blood as the Lord of Iron, Perturabo, because the Mechanicus LOVES doing things they're told not to do. Now, outwardly, the Falcons appear normal. No visible mutations and abnormalities. However, simply being in their presence causes unease, some describing the sensation as being in a state of panic whilst having a stomach ace. For Psykers however, it's worse, with many arcane practitioners suffering extreme headaches and feeling an overwhelming sense of dread just being in the same room as a Falcon.

This was the "gift" bestowed upon the Chapter by the Magos Biologis. Desiring to replicate the anti-Psyker warfare of the Sisters of Silence, they attempted to create a mutation akin to the Warp Dampening effects of the Pariah Gene. This gave the Falcons near complete resistance to Chaos and other Warp related attacks, but at the cost of their very souls. The goal of creating an anti-Warp Chapter was part of the reason Perturabo's Gene-Seed was chosen, as even after going traitor, it has been documented the Iron Warriors still maintain a high resistance to Chaos mutations. This combined with the Iron Warrior Gene-Seed's high rate of compatibility to accept this new Pariah Gene imitation, made it the perfect choice for the experiment.

Their preferred method of warfare is, naturally, serving as an anti-Pysker force (Note: They are NOT like the Grey Knights. The Grey Knights are possibly the best of the Space Marines and solely fight Daemons. The Steel Falcons fight Psykers a Chapter that specializes in Psykers but still fights the other threats.) The Eldar despise this Chapter, as they are the most Psychically attuned race and fighting the Falcons in like fighting someone while your body is spasming out of control and frothing at the mouth. They're also likely to disrupt Ork Weirdboyz and Tyranid Zoanthropes, negating their Warp attacks on allies. Naturally, they have no Librarians do to their mutation.

The personality of the Falcons is, depressing, to say the least. Just being near them makes even fellow Astartes uneasy. They are as alone as it gets. Even their Chapter Serfs only interact with them at the bare minimum. Understandably, this has left the Falcons a rather grim lot, keeping mostly to themselves.

However, unlike their Iron Warrior predecessors, the Falcons are not scorned for staying out of the limelight and not receiving praise. They are pretty much Perturabo without the egomania. They are the ones who will shoulder the burden and never ask for thanks or complain, because they know what they do is too important to leave to anyone else. They even gave their souls for the Imperium, possibly even denying themselves the only peace humans can ever know at a seat at the Emperor's Table in the afterlife. But it doesn't matter. All that matters is keeping humanity safe from the forces of the Warp. (Think the end of the Dark Knight and the idea of the hero who can live with being hated.)

The Chapter is based on the outskirts of the Mining World of Hekagon, a world rich in Adamantium. The various gangs that have emerged from the destitute workers who are slave in all but name to the overseers on Hekagon, produce stocky, violent and grim recruits for the Chapter. (Pretty much Darth Bane's childhood happening to EVERY child on this world, abusive drunk fathers included.) Even when the miners or the overseers aren't the main threat, cave-ins, flooding, gas explosions and giant mole-rats hungry for human flesh are also ever-present dangers to be concerned about.

The Steel Falcon's name is something of an opposite to the Imperial Eagle of the Imperium. While the Eagle inspires courage and strength, the Falcon inspires terror. They are a shadowy version of the Space Marines the citizenry is taught to admire (Pretty much Batman to the Astarte's Superman.)

In terms of Codex-Compliance, they're pretty compliant. They just have to work around not using the parts involving Librarians and make their own parts about specifically fighting Psykers.

Their greatest enemy is a Daemon Princess of Slaanesh, Delilah. Formerly a Planetary-Governess who's reign is remembered as being so cruel and debased it's used as a scar story for children in Raknye to scare them into behaving properly. After corrupting her world into a Daemon World for her "Beloved Prince" and becoming a Daemon Princess, she set off on a campaign of terror, which was halted after she was banished to the immaterium by the Falcons. Enraged her display of love for Slaanesh was interrupted by the Falcons, she has sworn to introduce them to a world of suffering when she returns from her banishment.

The Chapter war cry is, "Our Souls for the Imperium's". And they mean it. Each and every Battle-Brother has willingly forsaken his chance of ever finding peace in death to protect the Imperium from the ceaseless horrors of the Warp.

As for appearances, they look human, but imagine a man with a constant thousand-yard-stare going on.
