Wonderful painting. Very detailed and I'm honestly surprised a person can have such control with water color on a paper surface. It also looks a like an interesting place to dwell. Like a far cooler version of Swiss Family Robinson

Ha-ha! Swiss Family Robinson was one of my favorites.

I have a peculiar way of painting with watercolors; I use an oil technique. That’s to say that instead of using watercolor’s natural qualities (transparency), I paint with an opaque technique. This is mainly because my studio was my bedroom in my formative years, and I couldn’t manage the smell of turpentine in my sleeping quarters. So … basically I paint in the wrong medium.

Talk about it; just looking at your 'Sisters on the Beach'. YOU have technique.
I don't really use a watercolor technique. It's more like a gauche (opaque) style.
I probably should paint with oils or acrylics but I love the speed with which one can paint with watercolor.

I agree, that's one of the reasons I like watercolors too. I like to layer colors on top of each other which shows up really well in watercolor. Thanks for the compliment on Sisters on the Beach.
