My birthday present for the awesomeI had it a bit hard to decide which one of her OCs to draw for her. I already had drawn her beautiful and strong Elora, and focusing on Evelyn sounded selfish since she's Marilyn's twin. Then I remembered her "fact" about Evelyn in this journal: [link]
"Somewhere far down the line, she ends up as a grizzled veteran, with one eye and long white hair. Retired from her duties, she still lives in Castle Eremon, helping to train archers, telling fanciful stories in the local tavern, and going off on brief adventures now and then".
The image stuck in my mind, and I knew what do draw. Also because this means my dear Eve is going to survive the Blight, the war mages/templars and many of the future events in the Dragon Age line, and I'm happy to know it.
(Also seems Marilyn has always to be tied to one-eyed people XDD)

EDIT: After posting it and looking at the posted drawing, I had a déjà vu feeling and I realized she looks a lot like the Elfquest character Clearbrook. The likeness is unintentional, but probably old memories have tricked me. Consider it a tribute to that awesome comic and not an intentional plagiarism.

And yeah, she does look a bit like Clearbrook! XD I think it's the color scheme and the tassles rather than the hair. but she looks enough like her own character to not be a copy. I'm sure Wendy would be pleased she inspires you.

Ah, I also think the color scheme and tassles are what remind me of her. Somehow when colouring her they seemed the right colors and then I thought "OMG, where have I see this first?"
I imagine Wendy won't give a damn XD, but I'm really grateful for her works. During several years she was my idol and role model.

Dunno, I had the image since I read your fact; maybe you sort of sent it to me with that description. Hey, they were born together after all, I guess I can grasp a bit of her personality too XD (Though I always say Eve was the one who got the common sense XD)Glad you liked how I aged her, drawing aged characters is always a great challenge.
Oh I also hope Mari will survive with her too though it might depend on her husband's multiple curses. Though as soon as Eve's nephews are born I imagine Mari's reasons to live will multiply.
And now I am so curious about that idea!!! You tell me please!!!

LOL indeed, it's like a curse upon her beloved ones. Though in their last quest, her husband got his eye back, thanks to a generous healing spirit. I bet she finds it very weird XDD

Plus, Dorian would probably be the stereotypical badass of the group, shouting such generic quotes as "I'm gonna kill you!" and "You're not worth my time." and being quiet and broody and mysterious. ...What?

It was mainly a question of leaving his past behind. Kyle lost his eye trying to protect his first girlfriend, but unfortunatelly she was killed. Each time Mari saw the scar, she sort of felt the presence of the former lover between them. So healing the eye in the quest he finally took revenge of her death was the way to say aloud "That story is left behind, now she will never be between you and me". Nice that we're in a fantasy setting which allows things like that XDD

And yes. Everyone underestimates a man with one eye and one arm. Then they're left facedown in a pool of blood, after being stabbed in the back or having had their skull caved in by repeated elbow strikes right to the top of the head 8D (He did that you know. His second quest, totally killed a guy that way)

One thing I like about Dorian is that he uses that in his advantage instead of complaining about it. And wow. Those scenes are shocking in a game. Yeah, in one session we had a similar scene with Kyle (he smashed the skull of a zombie with his fist, smashing it against the floor) but well, he's a bersekerr warrior so it was not so unexpected. Impressive though. I can imagine Dorian's elbow skull smashing must have been too. Did I say I regret not having played with him? XD. Hope you make him have a cameo from time to time.

Yeah, he often jokes about his disability too, and he's alright with jokes from someone else about them so long as they're all just for fun. But if they're intended to be very insulting, he doesn't like that at /all/. :3
Well, imagine this. Slaver tries to fight Dorian and gets a kick to the side of the head. Dorian then jumps on his back, wraps his legs around the guy's waist and starts pummeling him in the head with his elbow. Doesn't stop until the guy stops twitching. Slavers are unforgivable in his eye.
And I'd like to do cameos with Dorian, but not entirely sure how or where. I'd love to have him come along and help ye now and again as a cameo, or maybe even an NPC to help in quests. But, despite all our planning, is sad we only got to really RP once, and that was after he'd already left the Mabari :<
Would love to come quest or simply RP with you guys with Dorian, if not just to actually have him interact with Mari and others. Could be fun ^^

Y no he leido Elfquest, pero me recuerda a alguien y no se a quien. No se si a personaje o actriz, es por la nariz y la mirada.

Las gemelas son las dos de armas tomar, solo que Eve fue la que sacó el sentido común en el reparto XD
Pues es que cuando han comentado lo del pelo y el traje me ha venido a la cabeza, Clearbrook [link] es una elfa de larguísima trenza gris y que siempre viste de verde y con flecos, y me imagino que en mi subconsciente la copie descaradamente. Teniendo en cuenta que Elfquest es una de mis influencias artísticas más importantes, tampoco es descabellado.

Elfquest fue una de mis primeras influencias. Bueno. Miento. Recuerdo que compré un tomo en Inglaterra porque lo vi y pensé "Joder, se parece a los elfos que yo dibujo!", pero encima de que ya se parecía, aún copie el estilo a base de fanarts, así que luego fue exagerado. Muchos de mis elfos tienen cosas de los personajes de Elfquest... Yllwenn tiene mucho de Moonshade, que era mi favorita: [link] y aunque tenía el pelo rizado, creo que Mari bebe un poco de Nightfall [link] . Es un buen comic, aunque la edición en español es confusa porque la han sacado por orden cronológico, y no en el orden en que Wendy Pini la dibujó, y los cambios de estilo y de dibujante la hacen dificil de seguir.
Pues actriz de carne y hueso, ni idea. Si caes ya me lo dirás, tengo curiosidad.

La conozco de haberla visto en tiendas, o mencionada, pero nunca le llegue a leer. Como tuve una etapa muy nazi de "ugh, elfos, caca" porque mis amigas estaban que no cagaban con los elfos y eran unas puñeteras fangirls mojabragas de Legolas /rant.

Pillatelos, creo que estan gratis online en algun sitio (bukyttian me mandó el enlace pero no se donde lo tengo), sus elfos no tienen absolutamente nada que ver con los de Tolkien, en serio, es otro mundo y nunca mejor dicho; y las dos quests originales, las que dibuja la propia Wendy Pini, son muy buenas (luego, como todo, degenera)

The outfit is what I thought would fit an archer though later I saw I was partially inspired by an elfquest character. I've edited my comments about it.
