Description “Huh? What’s going on inside your head?” Luna asked while looking curiously at the smiling human who stood in front of her. “Thinking of lewd things, hmmm?”.

Suddenly Sam’s face turned as red as a tomato. He wildly waved with both his hands back and forth, accompanied by fast breathing.

“NO!” he shrieked. “Uhm…I mean yes. You are a very beautiful girl, so I would certainly think about that too but right now I’m actually…uhm, you know…” he stuttered, trying to find the right words.

‘Damn it! C’mon man, what the hell are you babbling about?’ Sam thought to himself. The Fairy visibly amused by his struggling gave him a mischievously smile. Teasing humans was the best, she chuckled.

They spent the rest of that day talking about themselves. He told her about his village, his task as a healer and why he came out here in the first place as well as how he found her. She was very curious and seemed quite interested in him. Sam listened to her stories about her home, the Fairy kingdom and their wonders. He found that really fascinating. She even told him about a town within the kingdom where fairies and humans live together.

“That’s incredible!” he rejoiced. “I would really like to visit this place someday”.

“Yea, you should. There are some beautiful places. I can lead you around”.

“Sure, that would be great”.

“Yay!” she cheered and clapped her hands.

He looked at her, remembering all the things they say about fairies. “Strange…”.

“Huh? What’s strange, Sam?”

“It’s just that I’ve never met a fairy before and I’ve heard so much bad things about them. But now that I’ve met you, I’m not so sure about that anymore”.

And then he told her about all the things he heard and admitted that he, too, was scared to death at first. She looked a little offended and only thought how rude it is of these people to say such mean things.

“There is nothing wrong with gobbling up a tasty human” she pouted.

Although Sam grew up in Felarya, this was still an eerie thing for him to hear. Not to mention that he was kind of disappointment that the stories he heard about fairies were true after all. He could not believe how naive he was, living all his life in his protective village and never seeing the dangers of this world with his own eyes but only through stories told by others. This was definitely not the best condition for this situation he got himself into. A part of him always knew though, which was probably the only reason he could stay so calm at that moment, but he simply did not want to accept that.

“I regret nothing…” he whispered, yet he could not hide his fear. After noticing that, she put her hand on his cheek and gave him a warm smile, before kissing him again.

“Please don’t be scared. I would never do anything to you that you do not want. Not after the kindness you showed me. I’m with you now so you have nothing to be worried about Sam”.

Outside of Sam’s Village

It had been 3 weeks since Sam met Luna the fairy and since then they have met regularly outside in the jungle, near his village. He really enjoyed the time with her. They would just sit there and chatting for hours, playing games or just doing what a young couple would do together. For both of them it was the first time being together with someone. She had promised him, that she will not harm the people in his village, even keeping an eye on them from time to time and he trusted her. After their first meeting in the jungle where he first found her, she accompanied him back to his village but remained out of sight of any villagers. They decided that they did not need to know about her. For now, that would be the best for everyone. Not even Edward knew the truth about what had really happened that day. Sam just told him that he treated her wounds and left before she could wake up. Edward was ashamed of leaving the boy alone out there, he couldn’t even look him into his eyes. Sam wasn’t mad at him for leaving him though. After all it was his own choice, he did nothing wrong, he assured him. Edward however saw things differently. ‘I’m so sorry…I can’t believe that I have left someone behind again…’ the guard thought silently.

Sam made his way to their usual meeting place, the ruins of an old temple complex. There they were undisturbed, as no one from the village would visit this place. Furthermore, this place was well hidden and surrounded by trees, too small for a giant predator to reach. It was an ancient place. The gigantic trees thick and old. It might once have been filled with life but now it was ages past its former glory. Its canopy was so dense that you could only see the occasional streak of sunlight that rarely touched the forest floor. Even its thick vines were slowly taking away the last remnants of the temple that stood in the center. As he walked through the complex, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

“What do we have here? A human all alone out here? Dear, you’re living dangerously. You’re a real treat, a fairy could pass by and gobble you up, you know…” his fairy girlfriend said with a playful voice.

Looking up, he saw her sitting on a branch above him. “Well, I wouldn’t mind if she’s as beautiful as you” he answered.

Luna smiled. “Oh, if that’s the case”.

She jumped of the branch and flew in front of his face, placing her lips against his cheek, brushing it lightly, which gave him goosebumps. “Last chances…” she whispered.

He looked deeply into her stunning blue eyes and rested his hand below her ear. Leaning in a little closer, he slowly kissed her soft lips and she opened her mouth with a low moan as she fell down on him. After a few minutes of passionate kissing and cuddling on the forest floor, they were suddenly interrupted by the noise of a rumbling stomach.

“Sorry…” the fairy apologized, slightly blushing. “I ate absolutely nothing the whole day” she explained with a miserable voice.

“Well, you’re lucky” Sam announced and got a box out of his bag. He opened it and showed her what it contains. A bunch of wooden skewers used to hold food together.

“Good gracious, what is that?” she asked curiously giving the content of the box a skeptical look.

“Food. It’s called ‘Meat-Skewers’. It’s grilled meat or fish and vegetables on a skewer.”.

Hesitantly she took one of the skewers.

“It’s really delicious” he added, while he took one himself and bit off.

Luna quickly responded with: “I pass”.

“Aww c’mon, at least try it” he begged.

“Nope. I prefer to find my own food” and after saying that, she started flying off. “Same time tomorrow Sam. I have a surprise for you” she added before disappearing, blowing him a kiss.

“That girl…” he sighed with a smile on his face, watching her flying off.

At Sam’s Village, the next day

Sam woke up in his small house, early in the morning. From the outside it didn’t look like much more than a wooden hut, but it had enough space for a small family. His home was only a single room with one door and four windows, one on every wall, it was cozy and simple. He had everything he needed there. A bed, tables and chairs. A fireplace that could be used for cooking but also served as a source of heat and light. He yawned as he got out of his bed. He had a lot to do today but he was looking forward to seeing Luna again. The whole day he couldn’t think of anything but his charming fairy girlfriend.

After he finally finished his work he made his way to the ruins. It has been a boring day for him so far. All day he did nothing but sort herbs. Of course, he was grateful that no one in the village had to use his services as a healer but he wouldn’t mind a few patients from time to time. On the way out of the village he saw Edward. Like every day, he knelt in front of his wife’s grave. He doesn’t talk to anyone about what had happened to her, Sam tried it a few times, but Edward blocks every attempt. Not even his daughter knew what had happened to her mother, at least that’s what she says. Over time, the people in the village have given up trying to talk to him about this topic and respected his wish to be left alone with his grief and so did Sam.

Finally, he arrived in the ruins and looked around, trying to find his girlfriend. After a while he lay down and decided to take a short nap until Luna would arrive. After a few minutes, he woke up to female giggles and slowly opened his eyes expecting to see his fairy girlfriend. What he did not expected to see was another female fairy.

“Yeah. He is really handsome” the unfamiliar fairy said. She had the same butterfly-like wings as Luna but in an orange tone and she had blonde hair put together in a ponytail. Curiously she looked at him with her yellow eyes, coming very close to his face. Slowly realizing what’s going on, he winced and instinctively jumped up, carefully examining the new fairy who arrived here with Luna.

“How cute. Would you mind sharing?” she giggled.

In response, Luna jumped behind Sam and hugged him from behind, resting her head on his shoulder. “Nope, he’s mine” his girlfriend answered, giving her a provocative look while kissing Sam on his cheek.

“Aww, c’mon sis. Sharing is caring”.

“I don’t care” she said, sticking out her tongue to the disappointed blonde fairy. Sam did not want to know, what the other fairy meant with ‘sharing’. But his feeling told him that it wouldn’t necessarily be pleasant for him.

“Uhm…Luna?” he finally added.

“Oh! Yea sorry” Luna commented in amusement and pointed to the second female fairy. “That’s Sui”. Noticing that Sam was still a little tense she quickly informed him that she was a friend of her, so he had nothing to fear of her. “Relaaax” she added.

“Hey there tas…Sam” the targeted fairy greeted him and waved innocently.

“I brought her to help us” Luna explained.

The young man coughed briefly after hearing that “Ahem…helping us?”.

“How adorable” Sui chuckled.

“Daaarling…you are so dirty minded” his fairy girlfriend commented.

“You just have to ask…” the other fairy in front of him winked. Immediately his face turned bright red and he struggled again to find the right words and just stuttered, wildly gesticulating. “You were right, teasing him is really fun” both girls giggled.

“Well, what I wanted to say” she continued “She will help us visiting the beautiful Fairy kingdom together”.

“Yea, with a human friend there, things could get a bit…complicated” Sui explained.

“Wait, what?!” Sam asked confused with a high-pitched voice. Of course, he remembers how they talked about visiting this place together, but he thought that this was not meant seriously or at least not planned so early. According to his present state of knowledge, the Fairy kingdom is an extremely dangerous place for a human to visit, even with a fairy.

“Didn’t you want to go there with me?” she pouted.

“Yes, I do, but…” the healer was not sure.

“Like I said, I’m with you now so you have nothing to be worried about. Furthermore, Sui will also have an eye on you”.

“You bet your wings” Sui agreed.

“Sorry Luna, I…I really want to go there with you. I trust you” he gave in and watched his fairy girlfriend, rejoicing like a child. ‘Oh boy, what had I let myself into?’ he thought slightly trembling.

“It will be wonderful, trust me” Luna assured him.

“I’m not going to lie. I’m still worried” he let her know.

She took the hand of her human boyfriend and squeezed it gently. “Humans…” she sighed. ‘Will I ever understand them?’ she wondered. “You worry too much. You will see, it will be going to go just fine”.

A very nice continuation to the story. I like the tension you've created between Sam and Edward, and his silence about his wife - leaves a lot of possibilities open for future drama. The relationship between Sam and Luna is also progressing very well, and her "teasing" and his reactions are very charming and authentic. Can't wait for the next installment.

Thank you so much! I'm happy to hear that you liked the story ^-^
And yes, I actually already have a story for Edwards past (half-finished). I hope I can continue there as soon as I have some time for it again and seeing that there are some people out here who want to see it continue is really motivating! :3

It's a sweet story   You manage really well to convey that charming affection between the two, who really looks they are starting to love each others. I like that playful mischievousness you gave to Luna. It's very fairy-ish XP
And her friend Sui looks quite a handfull either. i'm curious to see where it will go
Great job !

I'm always insecure about relationship development, but your characters seem to turn out fine. Pacing might be a bit fast, yet this is nothing bad - there are fast people
About a visit to the Fairy Kingdom, here are two Felarian provers: Pretty lips lead to a belly AND Curiosity fed the fairy.

Well luna, riddle me this. If you couldn't grow to 80 feet and were a prime target for predators, entering their main territory would surely make a human nervous. Regardless i loved this chapter! So much more than in the other one. More detail, more interactions, and more character development. Sam is easily flustered, but he usually sets himself up to be. Luna is devious but also kind hearted, but she still has a lot to learn about humanity and how humans think and act.

Great chapter!
