Another epically old one - I faintly remember scaning those outlines to try coloring in GIMP, and fail horribly.A few months and many tutorials later, I actually found out how to use layers, but by then I had forgotten all about those lines. Until I found them sitting on my harddrive, waiting patiently until I ran out of newer lines to outline.
And even though the scan quality was horrible, and I had it saved in .jpg, I decided to give this little old picture the color it deserved. No longer as a 'first try', but with all the experience I have now.
And I also decided it deserves to be seen.

It's so cute! I love the Eevee so much, I remember these. But I love N the most. I like the manga series too, a lot of good characters and more detail to a extent

There is nothing ever quite like the first... although N is indeed a heavy contestant.
I like the mangas too, from what I've seen so far. Sadly, they hardly ever sold them in Germany, but now I finally have the japanese ones!
Now if only I could properly understand them... *really needs to study harder*

How much I missed back in the day...everyone was overjoyed with the first ever PokΓ©mon in game boy color...does were the good times...good times indeed. I hope they remake it, that would be super awesome! X3

The first ever Pokemon were for the Game Boy. No color ^_-
But yes, I remember how excited I was when I first played Red. I still love that little Pidgey that was my first catch - I later transferred her to Gold/Crystal, don't remember wich one.
And they did remake them for the Game Boy Advance a couple of years ago. Firered/Leafgreen, if you want to google.

Gold and Silver were remade for the DS, though.

Maybe. Gonna take a while though; the GBA is still very good in terms of Graphics and gameplay speed, so the old remakes are still very good to play.
We might get a chance now that they hit the 3D with X/Y, but that'll likely just trigger a Ruby/Sapphire remake.

Yeah, I guess no matter how good and kiddy-save a toy, someone will always find a way to break it.

Even though I like Silver and Gold more, and N and Black/White's Hero: Red/Blue or Ash/Gary, for those sensitive are classics all the way. We will all remember the old days.

As much as I try to like all the new games as much as the old, none of the new rivals ever had Gary's skill.
I'm still checking those little signs in front of every gym, but no one but Gary ever beet me to the badges. And he did it every time. EVERY TIME.
Even if the Gym Leader wasn't even present!

Gary may have beaten all the Gym Leaders to become the Champion it's true, and he did it solely to piss you off.
Silver just battled you because he was a jerkass, which I felt made him more likeable as a rival.
May/Brendan were the friendly rivals in my eyes, only there to really test your skill, they don't offer the vibe that Blue and Silver did. Wally doesn't count in my opinion, since he doesn't really want to beat you, so much as become a better trainer as a whole.
Barry is hyperactive and constantly tries to best you to no avail, but like Brendan and May, he's just there as a friendly rival.
Bianca and Cheran again, friendly rivals, but N not only managed to become the Pokemno League champion just as you arrive, but also captured a Legendary Pokemon, technically one-upping Gary/Blue, but he loses points because he was misguided by Ghetsis.
Hugh is pretty cool, but he's mostly in it for his sister's purrloin.
Just a quick analysis. In terms of accomplishments, N and Blue dominated the others. In terms of character development, N and Silver win, because they change the most over the course of the game. So really, all the rivals are good in their own right.

Yes, there are. As characters.
But I still think Gary is the best RIVAL; he's the only one that, no matter how overleveled I am, and no matter how easily I defeat him, always leaves me feeling like I came up short.
And yes, just to piss me off, too.
Because unlike N, or any of the other 'rivals', Gary really does what he does just to rub in how superior he is.

True enough. Gary and Silver are the only ones who were in your face about their accomplishments, mainly because in Gen III, they just continued to pull out the "Friendly Rival" as I term it. The rival there as a childhood friend you get along with.

I really liked the way Cheren in Black/White seemed to be always just a step behind me with the badges - it was the closest I got to the Red/Blue feeling of rivalry, except this time it was me who was 'always first'.
