I don't know where Porsheee got these questionable floating bullet points from, but I'm stealing them.Nvm, they're too weird and they don't indent nicely like actual bulleted lists do.
That's supposed to be Deryn in a white shirt and Alek with the long, black overcoat over a military uniform as before . =3=
How did I even get to this?
- I wasn't planning on drawing anything for Day One since 1. I didn't have any ideas, 2. I'm supposed to be working on school and not drawing, and 3. I just lent my tablet to my friend (er, that's supposed to help with #2. Then again, I already told myself that any Dalek Week drawings would have to be non-digital only. >w<)
- I wanted to draw for Royai Week too, but alas, see #2 (again). Also, 4. I don't draw for anime. Much. :\ Sad day. My OTPPPPPPPPPP~~~
- I did, on the other hand, want to do another FMA/Leviathan crossover as a follow-up to my first one because NightmareSiren asked if Deryn would have badass runes tattooed on her back .
- Except an FMA crossover in that context didn't really seem to fit anywhere either.
- But then I was playing violin today, and one of the songs I learned a month or two ago (during my Royai fic re-obsession period) was "Crime and Punishment ."
- And voila! A Dalek/Royai crossover that... doesn't really make much sense. Oh well.
So what does it mean?
- If it wasn't apparent from the above bullet points, I mostly wanted an excuse to draw something Royai-related and to draw Hawkeye's tattoo.
- "Crime and Punishment " is pretty much the depressing/poignant/violin+piano version of the FMA Brotherhood main theme.
- I'm still not getting to the explanation.
- So uhhhh, imagine a sad/AU ending where one of them gets sentenced to execution for treason/aiding the wrong side of the war??
- I don't even know anymore.
- Not that I knew in the first place.
Anyways, that was fun. I cannot for the life of me draw two people in one drawing. ;______;

Original (Tues 6/9 @ 1am EDT): I was totally going to scan this, but it happens to be storming outside, so I'll not risk the rain and stay in my apartment. Will update with scanned version tomorrow. (Er, later today? I guess I'm late by EDT. Oh well.)

It must have stopped storming pretty early, huh? Or you just decided you could brave it.Β Β
Β I just searched 'bullet' and scrolled... and scrolled... and then I decided I liked triangles and chose this one. Except that it's actually a pointy-arrow-thing, according to the deviation. Oops. Actually, how do you make your lists properly indented and such? Is this more of your 'typing somewhere else and them copying and pasting it' or can you really just add them in comments/on deviations?Β
Β I like the texture and gradient, but maybe if they were less apparent? Like, turn the opacity down on both? Not a lot, just enough to make the drawing stand out more than the texture.

Β The tattoo looks cool, even if it's not that clear.Β Β
Β I also love the sketchiness. I think it's what allows you to draw clothing folds so well.Β

I guess I never actually said I originally posted a photo in the description. Changed that. I scanned it on Tuesday.
- I hope you've figured out by now that if you hit 'Add Media,' it also brings up the dA/Sta.sh editor. This was actually quite a recent discovery/realization for me. Hm, useful.
- (I had opened Manga Studio earlier today but then closed it after a few minutes because I couldn't think of what I wanted to do on it. I just remembered that it was to fix this. XDD;; ) Updated deviation; former version linked in description. Any better?
- They probably didn't look very good while I was erasing them for the 5th time.

One of my goals/motifs for DW was 'more cracktastic ideas,' except that usually means 'more comics' (as is evident from 2014's DW). So we have 'one panel intense' instead.
I thought of doing something with Max/Love is an Open Door??? Failed 'Day 1: Mommy!Deryn to the rescue' again. Maybe next time.
There is this thing called 'stare at old deviations and read old comments.'
