another one of the roro jonggrang series...
(damn, i love her!!)
i am a bit confused where to put it, cause like the 1st one, me and my friend (randi and ruly) made it manually in collage way, but i decided to put some batik motif in here because the background was so empty...
roro jonggrang is with her maids.
because she was told famous for her beauty, so i tried to make the contrast between them
hmm..hmm..hmmm
actually, the traditional javanese clothes not exactly like these, i put some modern touch here

it reminds me of a photography project I did back in high school, where we cut and pasted parts of photos into a collage format similar to this.

it is a princess that turned into a statue in my country's traditional tale...well, i am not good at telling the story anyway but she got the curse after cheating the giant whom want her to be his wife.
i'll tell the tale.. (it has many version,but i'll tell you the most famous one)
Roro jonggrang is famous for her beauty in the land. And like another beautiful princess, many people wanted to marry her. But she always reject them.
One day, a giant name Bandung Bondowoso purpose her. She wanted to reject it first, but knowing that the giant is very strong, Roro decided to cheat him. She would accept his proposal in one conditon, he must build a thousand candis (a sacred place for hinduism, a temple) in just one night..she thought it was impossible, but he accepted it. The giant then ordered many of his ginnies and ghost to help him bulid the candis.
And just in one night, almost thousand candis already stand. Roro got scared and she woke her maids to make the sound so the roosters gobbling (well, i tried to find the word of the sound cock a doodle doo and this is the result) so that the giant think the morning's already coming and he lost. Soon, he find out that he was cheated by Roro then he cursed her to be a statue and the thousanth candi...
that was the tale..

yes..we used layers of the papers in collage technique..
scan it?well..just,scan it. hehe....
and then i inserted the batik motif as accent digitally.. (that's why i called it mix media)
