Thought I would upload something so that you guys know I'm not dead. lol. Just over run with life right now. I haven't had any time to do much artwork other then doodles and sketches. I found this in my art folder today so I finished it off real quick. I think the original sketch was from two years ago. O.o I just wanted to have a bit of fun. Those colors hide SO MUCH of the intensely detailed background though. I might upload another version to scraps without the swirly-thingies.The wasteland was really what I had the most fun drawing. The ground was hard but I found some great references of dried mud to use.

I definitely dig this painting here. Your use of colour to represent imagination in contrast with the mostly grey "real" world is absolutely lovely as is maintaining your light-source to give the painting an almost tangible atmosphere. Lovely, lovely work. Keep it up!

I completely agree. It's hard for me to get shading on darker objects on my computer because the monitor is sadly old and losing it's umph... So I actually can't see a lot of the shading and how it looks. haha. I'll try the door again. I also see what you mean about the swirly color stuff... I was iffy on those right from the start to be honest but I kept them anyway. Thank you very much for the criticism. It's appreciated greatly!

I see issues with her arms and head, but this is stunning; the swirls draw the attention, but it's the background that's full of surprises.

haha. yeah. I noticed the arm last night but it was too late to do anything about it. I'm gonna do some touchups today. Hopefully I get it done. :/

Yeah, it happens that way, even after you've tipped the pic upside down. Very aggravating (at least for me)

The anatomy seems to be a little off in the arms - assuming the right arm is coming towards the viewer, the upper part of the arm (humerus) should be a little shorter and probably the part closer to the shoulder a little wider; assuming the left arm is pointing away from the viewer, the triceps area should be a little wider (and possibly more pulled back). The legs look really nice, though, and I love the details on the dress.
Also, the background is amazing! The grass looks very realistic, the textures on the door and doorknob are well done, and the wasteland in the background is just awesome. You're really, really good at doing details.

haha. I can color, yes ma'am. But anatomy is something I'm still struggling with. I noticed the arm yesterday (gonna try and fix it today) and also noticed it's a bit too long.

Of the three pieces I saw in the last few min, I love this one best, for color and composition. I rather like that the colorful fore-image seems to overpower your background - or at least distract from it! It's rather refreshing, really! And it makes the sayings 'people tend to see only what they want to see' and 'let's not think of the bad side' true. I sorta wonder WHERE the girl is going... And I rather like the details on the hem and collar of her dress.

haha. Glad you got the idea of the piece. ^^ The wasteland she's in is barren I wanted the imagination stuff to be intense and colorful. Everything in the background was made with only 3 colors all from the same tonal pallete.

Just three colors? All the more, I bow to your background-making skills! It has quite a bit of depth and range to it, despite the colorful light covering it! I like how where the lights touch her skin, she seems just the SLIGHTEST bit more colorful, too.

haha. You should have seen it BEFORE I put all that color in there. it's sad how much detail was lost. The cave entrace, the sludge and the garbage pile behind her. And half the dead wood. lol Thank you for the comment!!!

Well, I think it's preferable to have fully finished pieces than 100 scribbles (though sketches are col too) so don't worry, I'll always be watching out for your next piece. :3
