Description Input: Five Hours.

Output: 3-4 seconds of animation.

Maybe that's why animation isn't popular X_X

Really pleased which how this turned out in comparison to my other posted animation. Scarified overall animation time and made heavy use of easing to gain a more realistic body motion.

** FLASH JARGON ANALYSIS BELOW **

The dynamic orientation of the head was definitely the big hurdle to cross. I basically took my basic head frame and re-drew another one on top of it. Slight shape tween hiccup at the first head motion (look at the chin), but it's hardly noticeable.

Missing some lines at the left elbow joint; this is due to me erasing lines at the static pose for aesthetic reasons. You can see now that it's come back to nip me in the butt in animation when the arm changes its positioning.

Kudos to EmperorBassexe to pointing out the ponytail mis-orientation on the sketch. Found a good way to handle re-orientation by chopping the motion tween in half and mirror the layer at that point, otherwise the ponytail would of rotated in an extremely unrealistic 2-D fashion.

I did cheat a bit in not re-positioning the layer order of the face and ears; as the head turns left, for example, the right ear's layer should be placed in front of the face layer. The hair layer covers this, so I decided to leave the layer order as is since you won't see it anyway.

Did some lagging frame tactics to emphasize hair / quiver motion. Looks okay; hopefully it'll improve a bit with more practice.

** FLASH JARGON ANALYSIS END **

Overall it is still a fairly 'static' animation; the animation from pose 1 (crouching) to pose 2 (sitting) will take a bit more effort, but the style is definitely turning out to what I was aiming for!

I was sort of expecting an expansion, but animation is all right.

Sorry for the initial letdown Kisame17.

The next animation sequence I'm currently working on has that area covered though! May take a bit longer than this simple one, as the body posture and expansion will be much more dynamic.

Probably should take a week or two, as this will be the first non-preg to preg animation I've done in a while.

Thanks Marrazan!

As always, if you're interested in seeing the inner .fla workings, let me know and I'll shoot it over to you via email.

Thank you for your proposition.

I will remember this if I have a flash project.

Haha, well, animation isn't all bad. Yesterday I did a single frame render of a 3d model and it took over 19 hours... on a fast comp too

E-gads LouieD0g! I hope that wasn't in a single session.

I would assume though that if you have a truly dedicated passion for it, then the time invested would only seem to be a minor setback.

Comparing the flow/quality of this animation in comparison to my older ones, I'm beginning to feel it was worth it!
