Description Finally, the ring that goes with Turquoise Hinges set . I'm working on another similar one with a malachite cab, as another commission.

The parameters were open on this, so I got to play. I like the result, though it was quite a pain to solder all those little silver beads on the wires, and file them down.

I like the little balls on the bottom... it's a nice change from the usual rings out there. Nice work... I can see why they were a "pain"...

Maybe a pain, but so highly effective, that little halo of beads just "makes" the ring!

I'll be attempting another one. I hope it turns out well too!

lovely and must be one of the more creative uses of granulation I've seen so far! I'm green with envy - my granulation attempts never come out so clean...

That's cheater granulation... actually purchased silver beads soldered to a wire.

great job Henry! I really like the dynamic energy the little balls give - like an exploding constellation. Does it sit well on the finger?

It slid a bit on my finger, but veeeery fortunately it fits snugly (with no sliding) on the finger of the lady who commissioned it.

Awesome picture... how'd you get it to look all coppery? The stone itself looks like a picture of the sea floor near a coral reef... like what you can see on a glass-bottom boat tour. ^..^

Coppery? I guess you mean the warm color on the metal, right? That is an effect of the difference in color temperature between the light on the ring (household bulb) and the sunlight coming through the window, reflected on the blue table. Ideally I could have corrected that with some filters, but I think it looks pretty neat.

Oh, and secretly I found this at the bottom of a river, while on such boat tour. Don't tell

Yeah, that's what I meant. It's definitely a pleasing effect. ^..^

And I won't tell anybody.

Yeah, so I doubt my sanity for taking on another commission, but I've justified it by saying "this time I won't solder beads, I'll melt wire." Probably won't matter.
