Description
My first go at setting a faceted stone - and I really like the result! This pendant was a gift to for her birthday, and I just didn't get around to posting it until now. It's a bloodstone cabochon and a trillion cut yellow sapphire set into sterling silver because she wanted "something green and yellow."

It's gorgeous! And I think the delicate, multiple prong setting for the yellow sapphire really brings out additional sparkle in the stone.

Hehe, I cheated - I used serrated bezel wire, and it worked like a charm!

The detail on the sapphire setting is amazing, it's like the best parts of a bezel and prongs put together. The triangular edging to the setting echoes the shape of the stone, without being at all overpowering.
And as for the bloodstone, well...

I don't know why when I thought "yellow stone" I immediately wanted to use a yellow sapphire. Maybe it's just because I've never worked with that stone before, but I do enjoy making unusual stone combinations. The only value a stone has is the value we assign it, so I do think that in terms of beauty, these two are well matched

That is GORGEOUS! I'm jealous ^^ I like how the yellow sapphire (I thought it was topaz at first o.O) is set above the bloodstone, it reminds me of those satelite pictures of the sun rising over the edge of the planet.
