This is a lovely gift. I really like the combination of colors and details that the different stones bring to the piece, and the carnelian focal is beautiful.

thanks hun! I haven't met her yet, but we've talked a few times on the phone. she's really the Earth Mother type . . with just enough fire thrown in for her to not be a doormat. from what I heard, she's actually worn this on several occasions & gotten a lot of attention for it!

I know, right? but it's what they wanted . . and they kept ooohing over the red stones as perfect for the earthy feel . . . *shrugs*

thanks hun!

This is beautiful. A necklace for all occasions, not to dressy but not too casual. And Evelyn is a beauitiful name too, very classical and sofisticated, but has a plethora of cute nicknames n.n I like the randomness of the beads as well, it works well.

thanks! since I've never met the woman yet, I sort of winged it. my daughter and her fiance helped me pick out the beads for this, took us over an hour of sorting. >_< they told me she loves it though, so I guess we did well! and I like the randomness too . . sort of collected and restrained chaos.

Very pretty colours!

Fire crab agate isn't really a gemstone, though ... sometimes it's a treated agate that's been heated and dyed, but more often it's just glass.

thanks. I was told to go with fiery earthy colors . . it's just what I had on hand.

this particular set of fire crab agates were actually the fire treated agate variety, not glass. the glass ones just didn't have the depth of color I needed. and technically . . none of these are considered gemstones! just semi-precious at best.
