Description I know this one is FAR from good, but I wanted to paint something based on "Good Omens" again, and as I came up with a shirt for Crowley ( [link] ) , I wanted Aziraphale to get one too... Please transfer all complaints as to why I don't draw him fat to the Bulgarian translation of "Good Omens". Like I said, I know the picture sucks in quality, but I sumbitted it for th idea...if you look carefully, you'll see what it's all about.

P. S. The "God's Bitch" picture was actually inspired by this T-shirt - not the other way around.

I love the way you draw Aziraphale, he's nothing short of completely lovable. That pose is so completely Aziraphale, too--and that dialog! fantastic, honestly, I laughed out loud.

And those folds in his jeans at the knees are pretty much making my life O_O

Once more - I'm speechless. I'm just happy you liked it so much. Glad it made you laugh, too. And the folds at the knees I found terrible,but...yeah...thanks.

I adore your style and the comments add so much... but I am absolutely mesmerized by Aziraphale's rear view, and it has nothing to do with the shirt. It must be a sin to have such a lovely posterior.

I'm so incredibly flattered. Thanks for adding me to your friends list too... And hah, thank you,I had a feeling that sooner or later someone would mention the rear view The comment makes me proud.I'll be drawing better pics of him,of course, but if I try too hard I might make him a real sinner...

I reloaded the image to look at before commenting, and again - gah, best bottom ever.

In other news, his hands are wonderful and I love his face. There's so much character there. <3

I wouldn't mind seeing Az break a few rules... And of course I had to add you so I could see when he did.

Wow! Ok,I'm definitely beyond honored now. I'll do more Aziraphale,as I promised.

I'm so glad you like it so much - and I haven't even started the serious Az fanart yet!

Trust me - he will be drawn in the process of breaking some rules. I fully stick to his sexlessness,of course, but don't worry, there are so many other rules to break

I figure he could get some anatomy if he wanted to, and being such a fan of learning, over the course of all those milennia, he'd surely want to see what all the fuss was about at some point or other...

And yay! More GO fanarts from you is definitely a good thing.

Soulstripper In reply to hikethekilt [2008-01-08 21:53:27 +0000 UTC]

Haha, you bet... heh,I'm sure there'd always be * something * he'd never try to learn about... all the fuzz about the way the "apple" thing works with people...temptation and everything, I don't see him in that light. After all, he won't try anything tricky made by Crowley.

But I was quite impressed by the gun scene... you know, when Az was holding that gun and staring at it... it really made me think. Because an angel on earth can get a lot of bad treatment and disillusionment about good and bad... both literally and metaphorically...

hikethekilt In reply to Soulstripper [2008-03-22 02:22:33 +0000 UTC]

Takes on an entirely new light as well when you consider the gun as a phallic symbol... XD

(apologies for taking forever to reply to this and other comments!)

Soulstripper In reply to hikethekilt [2008-03-22 20:19:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah,I agree with you.The way I see it,Az + guns is a great, dark, tempting dilemma, for some humans seem to be angels lacking wings, and some angels, like Az,seem to be humans lacking guns... Just try to imagine fighting in vain for some good for half an eternity, and there's no significant result, you just get mocked at and called a wimp etc. just for fighting and sacrifising everything for maybe the holiest idea that ever existed. Wouldn't you WANT to get hold of a gun at some point? Just because you're an angel doesn't mean you're stupid,as the book said. Angels don't have the right to get or give some justice. I think they're underprivileged, more than humans.

And it's ok,I'm slow in replying too...

very intelligently designed picture with both sides of the mirror ^^. it looks great, its humourous and people relate to it. lol

but yes, its really quite good. im running a bit low on my vocabulary at the moment so i apoligise. but i really like it.

Angels and demons are both prisoners in thier own unique way. i tend to think of them both as if they wore heavy iron collars with chains.

Soulstripper In reply to Unknown-soldier [2007-11-30 15:51:31 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for all the kind words. I'm speechless, really.
And yes, angels and demons are both damned creatures...no free will...not just with angels, have you heard of a rising demon? They can never do whatever they want... the ones can never disobey, the others can't get the chance for absolution.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Unknown-soldier In reply to Soulstripper [2007-12-01 08:30:40 +0000 UTC]

free will...

donno.

technically they must have had free will in order to disobey god and become demons in the first place.

This alone means that the ability to do both good and evil, and choose.

Of course, that isnt to say theyre free. I doubt anyone will ever know the meaning of that word.

but they do choose. They are chained by pacts and the like, i tend to think. Of course, the rammifications of such disobediance...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soulstripper In reply to Unknown-soldier [2007-12-01 16:39:46 +0000 UTC]

Indeed... What I meant was if they were to freely choose, they would no longer belong to the pacts they have with their "bosses"... but yeah, nobody's really free. And nobody is forced to be unfree, too - at least in mind.

Man, the antomy....uhh! Ho come you can produce so many wonderful pics in such a short time? It takes me ages to finish something.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2007-11-30 16:02:08 +0000 UTC]

Haha, you think THAT's good? I never even managed to finish it as fast I had in mind. I guess the trick is: traditional media. I haven't done much digitals, and it was never art, but I feel as if it takes ages... while pen takes a while and watercolour takes hardly anything... so it goes faster,I guess.

I had in mind to tell you - I think you draw SO much better than I do. Especially your latest pictures. I admire you.

Ezekiel-Ezra In reply to Soulstripper [2007-11-30 19:27:43 +0000 UTC]

I think that my art lacks more dynamic poses, and more refined anatomy.
I adore your anatomy skills and also the clothing folds skill _

I'l like to draw something like Egosun...sketchy looking but so damn perfect:
[link]

Or Gunner Romantic:
[link]

But that's way too much for me.

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2007-12-07 23:36:38 +0000 UTC]

Ok,one of my links didn't work right. Ignore that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2007-12-07 23:35:51 +0000 UTC]

If there's something the anatomy of my art is definitely NOT,it's refined. Like I said,my characters all seem so horribly beaten up, badly balanced and hungry. Nothing gentle about them, sadly.

Wow,these are indeed too good. Egosun is kinda manga/anime-ic,I can see,but Gunner Romantic...damn. Won't even try to reach him/her.

I want to draw like Paul Kidby, the most talented damn artist to me. Here's some of my favorite characters drawn by him:

He illustrates Pratchett's books. I mean,I love him 'cause his style is what I want my style to evolve into - both realistic and cartoony, alive, emotional, expressive, beautiful.

Ezekiel-Ezra In reply to Soulstripper [2007-11-30 18:44:53 +0000 UTC]

Oh and I think the same for you so I guess it's always like that between artists! I do think my style is OK but something's still missing. It's all about practice, improvement...but right now I don't have any will to practice...I just draw whatever comes to my mind and I intend to finish it. That's how the "Angelic" pic was created, I sketched it in class and immediately knew - whoa- this one's gonna be good. I hate when I get blocked in the middle of colouring and it's what always happens!

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2007-12-07 23:20:09 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Same thing with me and writing - I get my inspiration,I do great,I stop,I lose it,I f**k it up.. It's a regular thing.

I'm supposed to make a presentation in psychology class about two divine brothers who were divided by a woman. Ironic, isn't it? If I wasn't forbidden to use pictures of winged people,I'd ask you to use your art for that presentation.

Ezekiel-Ezra In reply to Soulstripper [2007-12-10 22:55:20 +0000 UTC]

Oh come on...
Which reminds me on the fact I still haven't actually designed that angel girl properly. She's got red hair (like I do...lame, shoot me but what can I do ). Every drawing I make of her turns out looking like shit. Well she's female...I can't draw them at all, yet I can draw guys who look very feminine. D:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2007-12-10 23:16:01 +0000 UTC]

No kidding! I imagined her red-haired too! Damn,I'm good Well, you shouldn't care too much about her, make her look attractive and end of story, you don't have to waste nerves on a female

Me too! I mean, draw feminine guys but no guys or girls, really. Feminine guys rule. Is your red natural?I'm impressed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ezekiel-Ezra In reply to Soulstripper [2007-12-11 00:05:04 +0000 UTC]

lol

Nah, I dye my hair. My natural haircolour is brown. I actually don't quite like the real redheads' hair colour, I love the unnatural red like Durza in Eragon movie, or David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust.

The thing with that female is a bit complicated...I did want her to be like you said, in the beginning but later I based her upon myself so I didn't want her to be just a default attractive female. She's rather simple, natural look and all. She wore those medieval cloaks and stuff, dresses etc. that make her pretty and graceful but not sexy. I did have her in one of my deviations once, but I erased it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soulstripper In reply to Ezekiel-Ezra [2008-01-08 22:18:51 +0000 UTC]

I see now... I've always thought haircolor is important for the soul. I could never be red-haired, too much strengh, life and passion in that, more than I'd bear. I dyed my hair black once, and it felt horrible. I mean,it looked nice, but my soul felt terrible. It's like 3 Ezras in 1 person. Oppressing.

Yeah, that's a better idea... Indeed, there should've been more good about her, otherwise an angel wouldn't love her...

Hahah awesome!! You do great shirts. I want one.
No complaints on the not-fat Azi. That's a cool mirror, by the way.

(Please forgive my 3-second attention span.)

Soulstripper In reply to Candy-DanteL [2007-11-29 21:27:59 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I *really* wanted someone to laugh at this... what would be funnier is Aziraphale's reaction when he sees the back of the shirt,I guess... but I think both signs suit him well, though he'd never admit it.

Thanks,I like the mirror's design too. I'm sure Az would order such a mirror especially for his house/bookshop.

I don't mind it,I know you're clever enough to read the sign in the mirror and get the picture's idea in 3 seconds.

It's fun, and cheaper than buying printed shirts, cuz you can just get a pack of shirts at a store, or go to resale shops. And no one else will have the same shirt as you, anywhere you go! 8D
