Good Omens' Aziraphale. Hadn't drawn him in a while... You see, the reason I painted this was that I often feel slightly lacking integrity when I think of the total amount of good in the world, at least compared to the total amount of evil. It could get one quite depressed, if you think about it too much. I can imagine it would be a million times more depressing for an angel watching the world's development (from a distance closer that what's pleasant) for numerous centuries on. In that case, to survive, and most of all not fulfill the urge to kill everybody, you must have a nice and stable life philosophy. I imagine his to be something like that - draw your happiness from small things like books, nice restaurants, warm drinks and funny versions of the Bible, putting off the moment to think of what a sh*thole the world has become. And it makes a bit of sense: love and virtue might not be around all the time, or in satisfactory amounts, but you can always - always - count on warm drinks.
A few P. S.-es: Yes, it's warm drinks and not hot drinks, because it's bad when the only thing that can calm you down at a certain time burns your tongue. Yes, the book's title does say "Holey Bible",I couldn't come up with anything else. And yes, I'd love to see an icon of Aziraphale with a book and a cup of cappuccino in a church.
