This is very well done; but if I have a tiny criticism I would suggest that it would be improved by the use of a bump map of the inscription - I've always imagined the writing to appear deeply incised or engraved when visible (don't ask me how this is possible if you can't see the writing when the ring is not hot - this is magic, yes?).

Thanks, and for the critisim, well, I used a bump map with the inscription, but I made it somewhat weaker than perhaps it should. It was looking weird with the bump map all the way. I'm not 100% pleased with this render either, maybe if I one day I work more on it, I will make the bump map stronger
I had more trouble trying to get the reflection and golden texture (it also has a really soft bump map) right and I still think it doesn't look very well.
