"how'd the meeting go?"
"about as well as you can expect from Steel' Kristen replied, sitting on the couch and slipping off her heels. picking up the shoes with one hand, she massaged her aching feet with the other.
"he was his usual self, going on about "resource distribution" and 'self-reliance" she continued, wincing as she touched an early blister "i hate these things."
"why do you bother with them?" Lance asked, walking over and sitting beside her on the couch. with a huff, Kristen leaned over to rest her head on the armrest of the couch while propping her feet in her husband's lap.
"decorum this, professionalism that" she replied, blowing one of her bangs out of her face "i couldn't exactly show up in my combat gear for a meeting with the UN oversight committee, could I?"
Lance smiled, putting his drink on a side table before starting to massage his wife's aching feet. she sighed contentedly at his touch.
"I dunno" he replied "I think you'd get more results that way."
Kristen laughed aloud at the mental image that crept into her head.
"besides" Lance went on "there's always your "dress" uniform.
"oh GOD" kristen replied, with a snicker in her voice at the thought of her G3 uniform " I don't know if i could have handled that..."
