"Fine then....Dinner."
"Done." Qrow murmured. Winter's eyes twinkled, and it wasn't due to her eye shadow.
"At the Savoy." she added, "Even you can rustle up enough "Blunt" cash for that. and make sure you dress properly."

She had the satisfaction of seeing a look of disgust come over Qrow's face.
"That Ritzy place? hmm......" he moaned, "Okay, fine."
"Thank you."
"But..." Qrow added, a sly grin crossing his own lips, "...Only if you wear that outfit. WITH the hat."
"Oh, you Jackass." Winter replied with a chuckle, summoning her hat back to her head...

ANOTHER AU idea, this one not OC-oriented:

The heroes of RWBY exist in our world, in a quasi-Harry Potter-esque scenario where "Magic" exists in an everyday entity, hidden from the world of regular humans, or "Blunts."
"Remnant" is as it implies: A Remnant of the old world where Magic was an everyday thing. However, as science and religious persecution grew in the world, the Magic-users were forced to flee underground (proverbially) and now, only a select few people are gifted with the ability to use the gifts of Aurah.

Despite the need for secrecy, several schools of magic have been set up, Beacon being one of the most prosperous and popular. Atlas Academy is something of a social outcast in the world of Remnant: Unlike the other schools, which focus on mastering the use of their gifts, Atlas takes it a step further: how to use their gifts to hide in plain sight, watching for any move by the "Blunts" against them. The Headmaster of Atlas, James Ironwood, feels that the "Norms" will one day reawaken their hatred of the Magic users and will make war against them.

To this end, he encourages his students to eschew the mystical world of Remnant and blend into society, using their skills to hide in plain sight and to watch for any public move against them. Among the "Specialists" who report directly to him, Winter Schnee is his most successful.

Schnee, making use of her talents, is a popular stage magician, earning great reputation as well as a large fortune. This is essential, as her father, a traditionalist, has cut her off from her family's estate, ashamed that she would "sell out" to Ironwood and his paranoia.

To Schnee's credit, she is not doing it solely for personal gain: she is likewise suspicious of "Blunt" intents and motives, and has uncovered attempts by Magic-users to inflict their misery on the world. She is in something of a love-hate relationship with Qrow, one of the Beacon Headmaster, Ozpin's, top agents, who likewise finds her 'selling out" distasteful, but acknowledges her skill and the information she has brought in.
