She is very protective of her people, and if she can save them she will. If she thinks she would do a better job than someone at something 9/10 she would just do it herself. Amanda is afraid to open up, scared that when she does she will lose them. Amanda becomes helpless when it comes to uncontrollable people (example, Pryo) IF people refused to listen to her, she gets overwhelmed, unsure of what to do to help them. When it comes to kids. Amanda defaults to mom, she feels a sense of responsibility to protect them.]

Amandas mother was an American soldier who was visiting Jamaca when she met Amandas father. Pregnant, Amandas parents moved to Washington where they got married. Amandas mother stayed in the military while the now newborn baby Amanda was raised by her father. Amanda was obsessed with the military, wanting to follow in her mother's footsteps. She learned from veterans during her school years, went to shooting ranges, and after graduation went and joined the military.
By now Amada has twin baby brothers, and her mother has retired from active duty.

Amanda was engaged to a man and pregnant when the apocalypse began. Taking her family across the border, She lost her mother when her twin brothers accidentally alerted a mutated infected. While crossing Canada Amandas brothers died. They consumed infected animal meat. She watched as they both slowly turned, and while her father was caring for them, after they turned- with a swift scratch he was infected too. Amandas father tried to make it as far as possible but once they made it to Alaska..he surrendered. While making their way to a safe place, Amandas husband distracted "Ghost" long enough for Amanda to escape.

Amanda gave birth alone in a tent during a storm..because of everything she had been through, the stress and weather conditions swiftly claimed her baby's life.

Now truly alone, Amanda wondered. The journey drained her of any hope left.. that was until she was found by a patrol- who after confirming she wasn't infected, brought her to the rangers.

Amanda never talks about her past with anyone other than the founder (if he ever asks). Instead she focuses on protecting the second family she has been blessed with.
