I just thought his armor would be light armor.

It is light to him, I am going to highlight that the armor is schematics off what he wore in similar to on Taarvin. The gravity there was stronger, so in a sense he does move faster; however, the basis of the armor is to attract more sunlight and to absorb the elements like a secondary skin without the downfalls to allow a protective cover.
