Ok Harsh much? No offense but you don't know the person who did the art.
How do you know they are not simply just some 13 year old kid who is struggling with spelling. Not everybody has the advantage of learning at a fast pace some people are slower. Heck for me spelling was my greatest weakness in school. I barely managed to struggle through it.Β Or maybe they have a condition that effects their language ability. Dyslexia for example has both an effect on a child's reading and spelling. And no offense to any 13 year old reading this but for the most part their spelling is horrific. Heck I'll confess when I was 13 I struggled with spelling.Β
Also what if its a simple case of English isn't their first language. *le gasp* THERE ARE LANGUAGES OUT THERE OTHER THAN ENGLISH!? YOU MEAN NOT EVERYBODY HAS ENGLISH AS A FIRST LANGUAGE!? YES believe it or not English is actually ranked as one of the hardest languages to learn. And it takes YEARS just to be able to speak with an accent, even more so to be able to be comfortable with the written language.Β
I don't mean to sound harsh on you but you seem to think everybody is a perfectly healthy 20 year with no conditions who speaks English as their first language.Β

I'm fourteen and I spell better than most people I know...and when I text I teaxt correct grammar and such but when I need to go fast or I just don't care I'll use that but I can't stand it when I don't understand what was put...With my dyslexic friend I forgive and decipher it as best I can but really my other friend text-yelled at me and didn't have the decency to type correctly. If you're mad at someone at least use proper grammar....

Couldn`t be more true! I use things like "LOL", "BTW" (meaning "by the way"), and "BRB"/BBL ("Be right back" or "Be back later"), but that`s all I use. It`s irritating when you just want to talk and instead, you find yourself squeezing every existing ounce of grammatical knowledge from your violently aching brain and destroying your face muscles with a murderous furrowed brow in order to correctly decipher what is known as "chatspeak".
I mean, NOBODY who types properly at least wants to have to communicate with another person who responds with bad grammar, bad spelling, and terrible puncuation. I don`t care if someone else thinks that their reason for horrible spelling and such is justified because "this is the internet", you are taught how to spell and how to correctly use grammar and puncuation, you are taught the ways of the English language. Not many people are going to take you very seriously when you type "hi how r u", instead of "Hi, how are you?", et cetera, et cetera.
I appear to have gone on for quite some time...

OH.
WOW.
That has got to be the BEST response I've gotten on any of my deviations ever! Seriously! I completely agree 100%. I was an English/language and spelling major in school, never anything less than A's and although I know not all are like that, as you said, we are all TAUGHT how to correctly spell and to use grammar, punctuation and to write like at least somewhat halfway educated people. And no one is perfect, we all make mistakes no matter how well we spell or type, but COME ON! At least give it a LITTLE effort! I am from the southern U.S., and being southern, the stereotypical accusation is that we are automatically uneducated "hicks". I beg to differ. And it really, REALLY irritates me to NO end when the ones whom that 'murderous furrowed brow in order to correctly decipher' what they type is aimed at, claim to be 'professionals' of some sort, like in computer or graphic arts, photography or some sort of occupation that is similar to what I do, when they cannot even SPELL! I'm an artist of many varied areas and levels of talent, including all those I just listed, and it is beyond me how can you BE a "pro" at any of those when you can't even type, spell or form proper sentences with required capitals, punctuation, and be free of chatspeak! I do not call lacking all that, a "pro" at all. You have to have a professional demeanor, and skills in not just the art itself, but all areas. I would not want to buy photographs or hire a photographer for say, my wedding or something of the like, when that person could not communicate properly or would be in danger of misspelling something. You know what I mean.
Just call it a pet peeve of mine. That's why I hope people will notice the huge difference when I open my doors for my business.

... You have just said all that needs to be said. Free internet, please.
But yes, I do say that, although there are the people who say "proper spelling doesn`t matter", it`s important an individual types properly, no matter who they are. An example, would you rather type a sentence in chatspeak - bad grammar, bad spelling, and bad puncuation:
"hi how r u"
Or would you prefer proper literacy - proper spelling, grammar and puncuation:
"Hi, how are you?"
I think we all know the answer. It`s true that the ones who cannot use proper literacy cannot be taken very seriously, and the ones who do it correctly gain more respect, and it`s no wonder. Just because this is the internet, or maybe a phone conversation, it doesn`t excuse improper English. There`s no point in hiding behind the "thish ish teh interwebzz!11one!1" retort, because it doesn`t matter. You use correct grammar, spelling and puncuation in real life, why discard it when online or texting?
So, yes... That`s my last two cents I`m able to scrounge at thie moment.

The worst part about some people's bad spelling in reality is that you can't even read it to begin with since their handwriting is so sloppy. That plus bad spelling equals mega confusion. I hate when I have to proofread this kid's English essays because I can NEVER read them! At least online, bad handwriting is impossible.

Too bad there's no such thing as something that reaches out, hits your forehead, and says, "Could've had a V8." That would really be useful in classes at school. Like 1st period...
