Another one for megoomba's Weekly Fan Art Challenge! The theme this week was Hayao Miyazaki. I originally thought I would draw Totoro laying on a branch sort of acting like the Cheshire Cat... but after one attempt, I decided it probably wouldn't come out right... so I switched to this. It's Sophie and Calcifer, from Howl's Moving Castle.

I'm still working on my cosplay for next weekend, so I didn't really have the patience to do all the shading (it was hard enough changing gears from sewing to drawing, in the first place ), but as you may be able to tell I'm having a lot of fun trying out the different gradient fill options in GIMP ^_^
